INTERCEPTED COMMUNICATIONS SHOW THAT STRATEGIC WEAPONS LOCATED AT THE PELINDABA NUCLEAR FACILITY HAVE BEEN MOVED TO A HIGHER STATE OF READINESS. IT IS BELIEVED THAT PRETORIA MAY ESCALATE THE CONFLICT TO INCLUDE NUCLEAR ARMAMENTS. THIS IS DEEMED HAZARDOUS TO US AND NATO INTERESTS.

Backstory:
1966 – War breaks out between the People’s Liberation Army of Namibia and South African police forces in South-West Africa (now Namibia). The conflict blossoms as a proxy war between pro-communist and pro-West forces lasting over two decades taking place across SWA, Angola, and other local states.
1975 – Cuba deploys military forces to Angola in an effort to prevent the fall of the Communist Angolan government. Cooperation with revolutionary factions results leads to direct ground combat with South African Defense Force (SADF) beginning in the 1980’s.
1988 – Cuban MiG-23 fighters bomb a SAD-occupied hydroelectric dam, killing 12 and prompting the withdrawal of the SADF from Angola. Further Socialist advances push all South African forces within their own borders; peace breaks out as Cuba is unwilling to push further and violate South African territory.
May, 1991 – With the fall of East Germany and an economic downturn looming over the Soviet Union, Cuba seeks to fortify the global Socialist position. Seeing opportunity in South African mineral stocks, Cuba attacks South Africa in a three-pronged attack that catches Pretoria off guard.
South African revolutionaries, exhausted from decades of peace talks with the apartheid government, align themselves with the invading Cubans, take control of much of the country, and put sudden pressure on the Pretoria government.
As a result of the conflict, global prices for precious metals rise, prompting the US to position a carrier group off South Africa’s shoreline.
Commandant Koevoet, Senior SADF leadership and commanding officer of the Pelindaba nuclear facility’s military garrison, receives orders from Pretoria to prepare the country’s nuclear arsenal for immediate action…

75th Ranger Regiment: Green, woodland schemes.
No multicam, foliage ATACS, or other 'universal' pattern unforms, please (besides ACU).
Gear color is not restricted.
As the event is based on a historical scenario, a $5 discount will be granted to players who make an attempt at a scenario-appropriate uniform - at event host's discretion.
