Background: I'm looking at buying this plate carrier: www.skdtac.com/Mayflower-Assault-Plate-Carrier-APC-p/mfr.512.htmI would use double stack pouches on the front molle and single stack pouches in the kangaroo pouch. Ehlers has the same PC in the commerce section right now you can check out the pics to get an idea of what I'm talking about. He has two single stack pouches. Unfortunately I can't just buy his, because it's the wrong size miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=commerce&action=display&thread=46926With 6 rows I'm looking at 6 mags if I double stack them. 8 mags is pretty much my minimum. They are each loaded up to 80-90 rounds. I'm usually at the end of my ammo by the end of the game which to me is perfect. I ran with 5 mags at the last no limits game and I was really stretching it. During the longer VIP games I had to reload mid game. I tend to shoot more than I technically need to (sometimes hoping for that lucky shot), but that's how I play and I'm not likely to change. I've thought about running 6 mags and I'm willing to try it, but I don't want to drop $200+ on a new PC without being sure that I can default back to my 8 mags. So to solve this I'm thinking I would need to triple stack the mags. I'm wondering if anyone runs with mags triple stacked. I've always had my mags double stacked. My two concerns are: 1) increased tension on the pouches making it harder to pull them out / get back in. and 2) how far off of my body the last row of mags would be. I'm afraid I might start getting hung up on doorframes or bunkers. However, I think since the kangaroo pouch is vertically offset from the molle webbing I might not notice a big difference. As a last resort I could put another single double stack pouch on the cummerbund, but I would prefer that they are all on the front plate area. I have issues with asymmetry. *twitch* PS: I'm aware I wouldn't be able to run Multicam at NL4. I'm buying it for pretty much every other game where I wear multicam. I already have a green PC that will work just fine when I'm not able to wear MC.

First, what size are you looking for?
I have the medium apc with the large cummerbund, and it's more than big enough for me. I originally got it with the small cummerbund and it still fit, the large is almost too big even for my fat ass.
I use the Trident T3 inserts for 3 mags in the pouch, I use a BFG ten speed for another 3 in front of the pouch. On the cummerbund I run a tactical tailor fight lite double pouch for a total of 8 mags.
The key for me is the capacity of the mags, I have five 190rnd Troy battle mag mid caps, two 120rnd mag mid caps and three 120rnd mag vn mids.
With these eight mags I've got 1550 rounds not including what's in the replica it self.

I have the opposite issue. I am a skinny dude. I measured my navel and I'm 34" which is the minimum for the small cummerbund. Ehlers has the medium cummerbund and the large PC.
If I bought new mags that could handle 190 rounds then that would probably solve my problem. 6 mags @ 190 rounds would hold ~158% of the bbs that I currently carry or 12.5 magazines worth. I am interested in buying PMAG style mags, maybe there's some out there that will hold more bbs without the feeding problems that my current mags do.
Edit: The Magpul PTS PMAGs advertise 120 rounds. If they actually hold that much 6 mags would carry the same amount of bbs as my 8 mags now.

I use the PTS PMAGS and a 150 bb speed loader. 120 is about right.

They start feeling pretty tight when they are over 90bb's. That said, I haven't broke one yet in over a year, and they feed well on my gun at 27 RPS.

See that doesn't surprise me. My MAG brand mags advertise 110 and misfeed anything over 90.

That's odd my Mag brand mids feed fine with a 100+ loaded in them.

As do the ones you sold me. Mag seems to work good in any brand and any rate of fire. I should be receiving 8 more of them today.

I had the Medium sized APC w/ small cummerbund and I am a skinny dude. I wear a size 32 in jeans, so I am probably about the same size or a tiny bit smaller. I think mayflower actually stopped making the small cummerbund, so you may have a hard time finding it in stock. I would say that you could most likely use the medium one with no issue though since it only has extra molle channel compared to the small IIRC. As far as mag setup I really don't think that running three deep is that great of an idea. You have quite a few options of other ways to carry the same number of mags. I would say just do 3 in the front kanga pocket, and a three mag shingle from ATS or Tyr on top of that. If you need more than six plus one in the gun, then you have a few options. You could just put another single double or a few more individual shingle type open top pouches on the cummerbund. You can also fit a velcro kangaroo pouch in the cummerbund as well. If you are looking to get creative you can even take a regular shingle type open top pouch like this and put it upside down at the back of the cummerbund. The bungee will hold it fine and it will allow you to have other GP pouches up front on the cummerbund while still allowing you to reach back and grab an extra mag if you need. www.tyrtactical.com/products/details/magazine-rifle/open-top-single-rifle-mag-pouch/If you are going with real gear I would definitely recommend Tyr Tactical. They have great variety of pouches that are fairly priced. I have a couple of their pouches and they are great quality and pretty unique compared to the other stuff out there.

Yeah I think higher capacity mags and maybe one extra pouch on the cummerbund will work out just fine.

If you can find them I am running the mag 190 rd metal midcaps and they work great for me. You can easily get 150+ rounds in there and I've never had an issue with them feeding, except in one of my guns that just happened to be really picky with mags. I got mine from tacticalairsoftsupply about a year ago I think, but it looks like evike has them as well. www.evike.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=59&products_id=32713In my opinion they are definitely one of the best bang for your buck mags out there. The construction is great and they have a decent weight to them if you are into that sort of thing.

Another option you can run for more mags is 6 up front and 2 on a belt/1st line. This will keep the cummerbund symmetrical while also giving you 2 "fast-mag" pouches to do quick reloads from. I run this set-up with my Banshee and it works well. In the event that I need to possibly ditch my rig (ex. it gets caught on something, I need to doff it quickly, etc.), I still have 2 mags to run with. Personally for me, I just like to disperse where I put gear so that when the worst happens, I'm at least somewhat prepared. Case in point, if my rig has all of my mags and I need to ditch it, I can't reload if need be.

I like the look of the PMAGs better and I like the fact that they are plastic (no worries of rust). The problem is that they cost significantly more and hold less ammo. On top of that I would be compelled to get ranger plates for them. With the GI style mags I already have about 10 1st gen magpuls. The damn PMAGs just look so high speed though and those are the same mags I have for my AR-15. Should SHTF I would definitely be proficient with my RS mags having played airsoft with the same style mags. Despite all of the logic telling me to get the MAG 190 rounders, I think I am going to get the PMAGs for the coolness factor.
