My Thoughts about today:
I am 100% impressed by all of the players I witnessed today. From the First-Timers to the weathered Vets. All of you did a great job today both playing and having respect for each other. I was extremely shocked when we asked for a raise of hands for those who had not been to Action Paintball before and damn near half of you raised your hands.
I would like to see all of you again at future events. It was great to meet new people and help them start their new hobb.... Addiction.
Watching both sides play intensely from behind my camera was a great feeling.
To the Guy with the Polar Star in Urban Camo: I'm sorry for having you removed from the action during the Force on Force. I was given out-dated information on your chrono. I hope you enjoyed the action after that and a big thank you for actually following through with your FPS tuning!
As for Safety violations we had quite a few. This is the part that saddens me. Please keep in mind that Barrel condoms MUST be on your gun in the SAFE ZONE and while approaching the SAFE ZONE. Nobody wants to risk a malfunction costing them an eye, tooth or anything else. For those of you I warned: Please see to it that you remember this!
Also, Home made solutions to barrel condoms i.e Duct Tape, Socks, Gloves, Shemaghs are not acceptable forms of protection. A barrel condom is not cost prohibitive and can be found everywhere for cheap. Invest in one and save yourself the hassle.
I look forward to seeing everyone again and I hope everyone had a great experience today!

I had a great time today with everyone who came out. I'm technically a bit insane, but as long as I can make others laugh and have a great time, I think of it as mission accomplished. Bunch of fun games today and a few musical numbers. Although it was wet and cold at times, the action and rushes kept me warm. Great to see everyone who I haven't played with in a long time: Tex, Tank, Devil, Relarz, X, just to name a few. Can't wait to see everyone's pics/vids when they get posted. Dange-a Zoooone! Who knew Kenny Loggins was so inspirational? The video should be interesting. Standing around... hear Danger Zone. Run over to Helmet to cover him while he busts out some sweet mid game dance moves. I'll apologize because I forgot the barrel condom a couple times. After years of playing without them it's easy to forget. I did try my best after being warned and I didn't forget after the first half of the day. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

Well I was the first official casualty today. I ended up having to go to the emergency room at Oakwood Hospital. I had a feeling I would get cut, but I didn't think I would be cut THAT bad. Haha 11 stitches. I unfortunately couldn't play and had to go home. Everyone seemed to have had fun today though. I heard it was very muddy.

How the hell did I not get notified? No idea. When it happened I replied in the staging area in the most calm and relaxed tone "so who wants to respond to this one?" And a whole bunch of people (including my friends) scrambled and helped me get propped and wrapped. A lot of refs knew and I talked to the owner. I kinda rushed to the hospital as soon as I could before it got worse.

I know you required stitches deisel but I was the Guy wandering around with "MED" on both shoulders wearing a jump kit. I have enough supplies to keep you from messing up car interiors and the likes.
Once I get my rig I'll also be wearing a star of life as well. Seek me out if it happens again!
I'm glad you're Ok though and that everything sorted itself out!

I also have a huge first aid kit in my bag. I'm always more than happy to donate medical supplies when needed.

Thanks, but i hope it doesn't happen again. we kinda scrambled to get it done fast. Our medic had enough to get the job done, but not the stitches. If I had known you were around, I would have definitely notified you! Haha But I'm glad everything worked out as well. And thank you secretsquirrel. I guess it's time to update my first aid to an IFAK.

I honestly didn't even see the tongue until I uploaded everything to Photobucket. I find it funny that you're concentrating that hard!

I have no idea what I'm doing here. Too me it looks like arc said "Damn look at the shitter on that critter" and the guy next to him was like "dude that is a man!" I also had a pretty good time today. It was wet but not as swampy as I expected. I thought it was going to be ankle deep everywhere we walked. There were a few issues with hit calling but I am sure a bit of it can be blamed on the extra clothing and wind. My only real complaint about today was the massive down time we had during lunch, I prefer to get the games going a lot sooner then 1.5 hour after lunch started. If people are not back in time or not ready then I think we should just start with out them. I feel lunch should be no longer then 45 minutes ( plenty of food close enough to the field to be back in that amount of time) Also I would like to give a major +1 to the field owners on the fire barrel, it helped keep things warm during the reloading time.

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday, it was great to see so many new faces as well as vets.
I can't really add much more from a host's perspective to what Deacon stated, so I won't bore you with a rehash of the same things.
I was annoyed with the late start, but there was some chrono issues that slowed things down that couldn't really be helped.
As far as the lunch thing goes, it's kind of a double edged sword. When we first took over hosting last year, lunch was the typical time that about half of the players left and ended up not coming back. Through out the past year, we have increased the returning numbers to 3/4 to all of the players coming back to play.
When players take a lunch they like to take their time and get back in to things at their own pace. Rushing or hurrying along players seems to have little effect, when they're ready to go they do. This same scenario is true first thing in the morning when everyone is getting prepped to get started.
I agree that we should offer games a little earlier after lunch for those players who are ready to go.
They way I look at it, if a player wants to take extra time to get ready, then it's their fault missing out on games.
We appreciate all of the suggestions, we want to make these events as enjoyable as possible for everyone.
