The land owner understands that we've been hit by bad weather and low attendance due to it, but based on his history with prior operator of airsoft on field, he made it clear, MAKE RENT - GET PLAYERS - or he is CLOSING the field to airsoft permanently - and its the only know "Zoned for airsoft" field, legally set up for play, in Michigan that anyone I know is aware of.. lets not lose it guys, where's airsoft Jesus when we need him?!?! Wheres Bones? (Casper is working) Team Ghost?!?!? We do have Steel Fallen Angel and some other great players coming, so GET OUT AND SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITY!!!! Keep the field open!!!
Thanks all, Thadius ATS!

Will balaclavas work for the required face protection? You can't count on my brother and I being there.

Roster updated: several new players coming, Steel Fallen Angel and Alex, Novak, Impulse, Jarhead Don, Glen, (maybe Grant) and many others re planning to come - arranging rides amnd watching weather (report is still good). Should have a decent turnout - if we want to keep the field open we need to pay the rent, so get out and play to ensure we have the field for the summer, guys and gals! Owner has made it clear - from a prior "bad taste in his mouth" he WILL NOT open up for another airsoft group if we hose this up, damage his props willfull, or fail to pay rent, so please, lets make April a paid month - come play with us, do your part to maintain a place to hold excellent REC, OPs, SCENs and Mil Sims all through the year and I'll do mine!!! HELP KEEP 28mi and GRATIOT OPEN FOR THIS YEAR!!! If you cant make it, tell your friends in the airsoft community - I know the Michigan airsoft community WANTS this field open, especially as summer comes in, so come play, and help guarantee you have a great outdoor field all year!!!

I have a couple suggestions for your issues with attendance.
1) Keep an updated roster on the first post. When I have no idea who's going I'm not motivated to go. If I see guys that I'm friends with signed up I'm much more inclined to go. Also, with no roster I have to assume only a handful of people are actually going to the game if any. I don't want to go to a game with 3 guys where I spend all day trudging through the woods looking for something to shoot.
2) Host games less often. I nor probably anyone else is going to go play every weekend. I would go once a month though if I saw a decent number of guys signed up. When you host a game every weekend you might get a handful of guys 4 times a month. If you hosted once a month you might get 50 or more guys for the one game. When the attendance gets bigger the overall attraction to play is bigger which becomes a positive feedback loop. If I don't see at least 20-30 guys on a roster it's really unlikely that I'm gonna show. Some people have lower thresholds, some higher, but I'm willing to bet most people aren't going to drive an hour away to play a game with three other guys. 3) Consider other fields when scheduling games. If No Limits has 100 guys on the roster for Saturday how many guys are going to show up at ATS on Sunday? Granted the fields have different locations and thus a different player base, but there is certainly overlap. Those guys that would have showed up on Sunday can catch the game next weekend. Now you saved yourself operating cost which will lower the bar for making rent.
4) Mix it up. REC games are fun, but you don't see me driving down to Ohio for a REC game. Hosting Scenario and MILSIM games could help increase attendance and if done right can increase revenue from higher entry fee's. You just have to make sure that there's something to justify that cost.

I can agree with many of the things X posted about. I'll play with a lower threshold of guys but he makes good points about spreading the roster too thin across 4 weekends. I think even I would be more likely to specifically plan for "the big weekend you've been posting about all month with a confirmed roster of 40-50." Especially if you organize more milsims like the one last August, that was a ton of fun and I'd definitely do that as often as you had them.
