I am not going for any impression, just using what is best for me and most comfortable for my play style. I am planning on sewing up a small hydro carrier/backpack to take care of hydration and a few more primary magazines. -The Kit- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- KitlistPropper Boonie Swimmer's Headset Crye Precision AC Combat Shirt Crye Precision AC Combat Pants Tactical Tailor Rigger's Belt Safariland 6280 with UBL mod Surefire G2 & CSM G2 Holster Hunt's Custom Roll-up Dump Pouch Casio G-Shock Hatch SOG-L Gloves Merrell MOAB Mid Boots Hunt's Custom Low-Profile Chest Rig ITS Tac Fatboy BFG Triple Maxpedition Radio Pouch Carabiner Flexcuffs Chemlights Tokyo Marui M4 -Troy TRX 11" -VisionKing Shortdot -Kings Arms SPR Mount -Magpul RSA -Magpul MBUS -Magpul AFG Tokyo Marui G17 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Comments and criticisms are welcome.

Great looking kit, but have you considered some sort of slick armor carrier? The combat shirt with just a chest rig kind of negates the purpose of the combat shirt, though I guess it would be a bit less hot than a BDU shirt. In the case of the crye AC shirts, the body color is also very light, so it's not the greatest for camo either.

Your combat shirt isn't going to stop any bullets or shrapnel. I do think everything else looks really good though. Any plan on a helmet? What sort of impression are you going for? Great start!

Seems like a very practical loadout.
Frankly, unless you're going for a specific impression, I don't think you need to add armor or anything like that. Your combat shirt might not stop bullets, but since we're playing airsoft it doesn't have to.
You're already running a pretty light rig, why make it more bulky by adding armor that doesn't actually contribute to your effectiveness in the game?
Ctres makes a good point about the effectiveness of the combat shirt as camo given the shirt's light coloration. That said, my view is that 80% of remaining undetected in airsoft stems from concealment, not camouflage. At the ranges we play if you're out in the open or moving around, no matter what camo you're wearing, you're likely to be spotted.
How combat effective are you with only three magazines (two on the rig, one in the gun)?
How is your PIG hydro mounted? There's a small back panel on the TT X-harness, right?
Looks like a slick loadout to me, but I'm another chest-rig fan, so maybe I'm biased.

Just to clarify, I simply thought it looked a tiny bit funky with the near white combat shirt and just a chest rig. To me, for a setup like that, a regular BDU shirt would look more appropriate, however the combat shirt is more breathable, and as you said, it probably wouldn't really compromise his position much anyways. And yes, adding armor would make it more bulky and be pretty much pointless, its more of a look thing, and it just depends on how seriously you take looks into account.
Regardless, it's a very cool kit all around, and I like seeing that others are using real gear as well.

Ctres- I have considered getting a full Multicam top, but I have other things that need to be taken care of before I worry about that. I don't think I will run a slick carrier. I used to run a 6094 SLICK, but I decided to get rid of it. It was just slowing me down without adding anything to the experience. Echelon- I am not going for any particular loadout. Since I am not replicating any unit, I don't feel the need to run a carrier with fake plates. I was thinking about an Ops Core Basejump, but since those are worth their weight in gold right now, I will have to put it off until they are reasonably priced again. Gimp- I agree, since this is just Airsoft, I am not worried about real bullets. The rig actually has three mags on it, and I am looking to add two more when I get some more cash. That will put me at 5+1, so after that, I think I will be able to field this kit effectively The PIG is mounted on a small back panel of the MAVs X-harness. It is loose on the bottom. It hasn't flopped around too much on me yet, but I may tie some shockcord from the bottom of the carrier to the lumbar strap on the rig. That should prevent any excess floppage. Thanks for the comments fellas.

Since it's just "airsoft", you can do whatever you want. I just figured, (like almost everyone who buys gear, and plays airsoft) you would want to look "the part". Since there is no part you want to look, then you are doing a great job. Again, good work so far

I feel like using high-caps is a far jump from wearing a chest-rig over a combat shirt. I understand that it isn't the norm. I've looked at all the threads on Gearsoc and Arnies, the same as any other geardo. I know that I am breaking the "rules."
Believe me, I have done impressions and have ran multiple plate carriers. I am not anti plate carrier. I fully support others wearing it for the "look" of it. It just isn't what I am looking for at this point in my Airsoftdom.

3 mags doesn't seem like a lot of ammo, but you said you're adding 2 more so kudos. Have you thought of also carrying mags on the firstline via FastMags or something similar?

I have thought about it, but the only problem I can see coming from that is that the rig runs lower than a PC so the mags may hit the rig.
Now that I think about it, I could run a small drop leg panel and run some mags on that. Something like that Costa Ludus Rig.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I like it as-is given you'll be adding more mags into the mix. Needs moar comms though. Adding belt mags or another drop leg is a terrible idea since it'll be going against your lo-pro theme and just bulk you up more.

One fast mag on the first line isn't that bulky at all... But having it interfere with the mobility of the rig is a no-no. so kudos on the problem solving.

Isn't there a fastmag that sits horizontally on a belt, so it doesn't stick up and won't get in the way? I could be wrong though.

Cqbr- Thanks. I tend to agree with you. I think 5+1 mags will be enough.
Comms are the next thing on my list. My last headset ruined my radio. The tip of the pin broke off in the port and I can't get it out for the life of me. I was pretty upset when I learned that both my headset and radio were broken. I am pondering upgrading to an ICOM next.
