So I am picking up my PDW later today. What are some must haves for it? I will be running a 7.4 lipo as well. Also what mid caps work with the VFC?
I plan on getting a micro red dot sight . Is there any internals that should be replaced?

Thanks for the link. If they work flawless, they are worth the cash.

Keep it stock until stuff starts to break. Don't waste money on parts you don't need.
If you absolutely are disappointed with the performance I suggest this..
For ROF and trigger response = A good lipo battery and motor, JG Blue or Lonex.
For accuracy and a slight range boot = a Prommy 6.03 tightbore and Prommy purple bucking.

I picked up a used VFC PDW over for like $100 with 4-5 PDW magazines quite a while ago. It was missing an inner barrel, and bucking as well as the 10" barrel, battery and the PEQ battery box, but it worked flawlessly. So I upgraded it with a TBB, better bucking and nub. I was happy with the internal performance of it since I used it as a CQB gun. The biggest upgrade for it is having a good battery. I used an 11.1v LiPo and the ROF, and trigger response was fantastic.
The only downside to the gun IMO is the lack of space to store a battery inside the gun, hence the PEQ Battery Box. It's also a pain in the ass to dismantle. Since it's wired to the front you have to separate the wiring before you can separate the lower and upper receiver. Also I wasn't too sure on the quality of the clear hop up chamber that comes with it. But I didn't have any range or accuracy issues so I suppose it worked fine.
So my suggestion would be to get a good battery for it. Upgrade the inner barrel, bucking and nub and see how you like it. Then go from there.

I've had a couple of these in the past.
If you take out the faux gas-tubes in the front end, you can mash a 7.4v lipo in there and not have to use a PEQ. You'll probably want to wire over to Deans or JST if you're going to go this route since the connectors are small.
If you're going to run a PEQ, I suggest getting the smallest PEQ you can find and putting a lipo in it. I used a PEQ15 and it work fairly well. It's small enough to stay out of the way, but large enough to hold a decent sized lipo. Avoid the PEQ2s or Dbals boxes as they are huge!
The last PDW I had (A Dboys version) came with 7 of those KAC PDW specific mid-caps. Only 4 of the 7 really locked into the gun easily, the other 3 required a hard smack to seat properly. I'm not sure if this was a result of the gun/hop-up fit, which could be poor in the Dboys guns, or if the magazines are just poorly made.

Thanks for the feed back.
Ill be keeping the internals and motor stock. I will be adding a 6.03 tbb and I am kicking around the idea of a r hop mod. I have a 7.4v lipo in a peq box already.
Anything else?
