It's more that we have all been here before and we have seen how you guys treat younger players with lower end guns, like JGs cyber guns... I think you're making a sweeping generalization about the community here on MiA. Sure, we've got some cranky, elitist jerks who can't abide anyone not shooting a Systema PTW. For the most part, however, I think you'll find that the majority of people on this forum just want to talk about airsoft, offer advice when it's being asked for and continue to develop the hobby. This forum does ask that people post using proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Sometimes people do get cranky about others not following this rule. In any case, I encourage you both (nmadoc and badgerboy) to keep posting on MiA, especially if you're hosting games. I've already posted about Operation Cold Hammer, which is occurring this weekend in West Branch, on your facebook page. I'd definitely enjoy meeting you guys should you decide to hit that free game up. Just a few names of some Northern MI airsoft players should you decide to PM them here on the forum: Deputy865 (Traverse City) Gimpalong (Traverse City) Talisman (Grayling?) Ogre (West Branch) Stinky (Grayling?) Dingo (Cadillac) Serfis (Grayling?)

We have started a Marketing Dept. with in our group, to do just as you have stated (Gimpalong) I hope we can have a beneficial exchange in the future. I do thank you for that interjection. After all, that is what everyone here is trying to do. Create a like minded group of people whom to grow and learn to be better. Please except my apology if i had offended you in anyway. I am however wondering if now after this conversation I will be, Oh what was it ? Oh yes right ( culled the herd) I do hope not, we have so much planned, for this summer.

I'm gonna try and make it there most defiantly, work may not allow it but I'm gonna try, and I hope I can keep posting. I just HOPE that it has changed in the past few years at least a little bit and there is less hating on younger players.

Can you link to some threads where players were treated differently because of their guns? Can you quote where anybody was slinging verbal mud before your attitude-riddled post (reply #20)? Because what I see in this thread is that you two came in with chips on you shoulders and when faced with reasonable questions, you got defensive.
I don't doubt that you or some of your members have had bad experiences here in the past, especially if the quality of the posts leading to those experiences were on par with what you've posted so far in this thread. But if you think that had anything to do with your equipment, you've clearly failed to understand the problem. Nobody here is put through the ringer because they have cheap guns and gear, we all started somewhere and with the economy where it is, we're all trying to pinch pennies. Where people run into problems is when they post misinformation, repetitive threads, a lot of posts without real content, posts with poor structure and lazy writing, or any number of other problems with their content. If somebody feels singled out because of your guns, that's a problem with that members' insecurity with what they own. If somebody's feelings were hurt because they were asked to make better posts, they probably need to grow a thicker skin. I've seen very few people given a rough ride here without good reason.
If you and your boys simply don't want to be held accountable for the things that you post, if you don't want to be expected to put in more effort than it takes to write a couple of sentences and hit submit, that's fine. But I promise you, the problems you guys experienced here were a result of your actions and your shortcomings in how you engaged the community. If you want to try it again, be our guest. If not, that's fine too.
Finally, there are two of you actively posting. If the two of you don't have the time to thoroughly answer questions in the thread you started about the group you run, then don't start the thread. Responding to questions is part of your responsibility when you start a thread like this.

Admittedly the forums have had issues in the past as has already been mentioned.
MIA is not tolerant of anyone who does not do any research on their own. MIA is not tolerant of anyone who does not heed good advice. MIA is not tolerant of anyone who cannot follow the basic forum rules. MIA is not tolerant of people outside the community who come here like they are the savior of airsoft or have an inflated ego due to their past or present experience.
These are all fair standards to hold. The trap that most people fall into is they break one of these things, someone calls them out on it and instead of making adjustments they become hostile and draw the wrath of the rest of the community.
Treat MIA fairly and you will be treated the same. Show hostility towards the community and hostility will be shown back to you.
For every person that leaves here angry there are another 5 or 6 people who stick around and realize how great a resource this forum really is. MIA has not gotten this big or this well known (locally and internationally) because of the negative reasons that were cited. It is what it is because it is a great source but you just have to get past the very strict standards that it expects from everyone. You guys are not being singled out. These requirements are placed on everyone who comes here.
I hope your community can make it past all those hurdles because it would only help the sport grow here in our state.

I do have to agree with Knief, and just so you are aware, I'm not one of his "goons" (as people have stated in several other previous threads where attitude was strewn about). The whole point of this thread seemed to be trying to get the word out about your team/training/site/games. Knief's only intention was to help you to realize that without stating what your group's background is, no one is going to even bother to follow the link that you posted, much less actually drive way the heck out to your field on a "trust me, we can walk the walk". We don't know who you are, so an introduction of your team's background is the very least that you need to supply in order to this to be a successful announcement to the world.
Also, I did follow your link to the website. I perused the forum for around 10 minutes and still was not able to gleam your team's background or what the training would consist of. Instead I gained a further appreciation of the most basic of rules that MiA enforces. Proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. I can understand not belittling someone for their lack of mastering the English language, but there does need to be an enforcement of these basic rules if anyone is to understand what someone is trying to portray. Also, it is just painful reading post after post where no capitalization is used, text speak is rampant, and punctuation is left off. Line feeds are not a replacement for a period and starting a new sentence.
