I ordered a KA M&P15T a few years back and was not impressed with the upper and lower receivers. Despite the amazing looking trades, it was made of weak materials and painted with some sort of cheap satin paint to emulate type I/II anodizing (similar to some G&Gs but much smoother and it scratches easier).
The other day I was at a gun show and surprised to see someone retailing KA airsoft guns. These were a very basic Colt M4A1's priced at 170$, but the body looked amazing. They looked and felt just like real type III anodized rifle receivers, very low refractivity, and it seemed like they'd be pretty difficult to scratch or break too.
Did KA upgrade the quality on their metal externals, does KA quality vary a lot based on model, is my gun just unusually low quality for KA, or is there something special about this guys KA's?
Sorry if this isn't new news but from the KA's I've seen I've come to expect a satiny receiver paint job.

In the past year or so the KA Colt receivers have been very impressive in quality.
The internals in the one I had, as well as the couple that team members have were decent as well.

Thanks battle-beard wielder. It's difficult to get much personal time with different guns in this neck of the woods.
