Well now, I have not started one of these in awhile. For the first (and most likely only) game for me this year, I had a blast. The different fields were amazing, the action intense, and we had a great group of players. I got to meet some old faces, new ones, and walk around in Strichtarn, nothing better than that. I am quite surprised how many people showed up, as I am sure others were surprised as well. It does go to show how great of a community MIA is when even minor games become great events all in their own. I somehow find myself unscathed physically for once. I swear, NVA jackboots are the best boots I have ever used on the field. Anyways, I would like to thank Pagan and the other volunteers for all their efforts (and for putting up with me), the Hell Survivors staff, and of course all the great players who came out today and probably shot at me many, many, many times. My gratitude to you all for giving me a good day to ride on through the next dreary semester at MSU. Heck, you helped me complete my new years resolution as well. If there is one thing I regret (besides my fail performance today), it is that I did not start muttering in Deutsch throughout the day.

Your fakelite mag ruined the whole day for me.
Nah, I had fun, it was good to see other people in snow gear - and admittedly pretty funny to be in a firefight and get pegged by a snowball from the refs. If only my guns had cooperated... I don't get it, everything worked fine last week but this time the batteries weren't up to the chill. And WHY ARE THERE ROCKS.

I had a blast. Thanks Pagan, Gunny, and Helmet for modding and the hells survivor staff for letting us play there. I look forward to coming back next month.

Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday.
It was impressive to see 36 people come out and brave the cold.
Things went well for it being the first time running REC style games at that field.
We are looking forward to getting more people out to enjoy this field.
Thanks again for the kind words, and we can't wait for the next one.

"Pagan, move. Pagan, move. Pagan, move! PAGAN, MOVE! PAGAN MOOOOVE!"
Great day, definitely coming to the next one. And for those of you that don't have a trishot, GET ONE. It was so much fun to use, especially at the Sin City field. And again, many thanks to Pagan for letting us borrow the masks.

I had a great time as well. This was my first MiA event and I certainly hope I can make a few more this year.

Thanks everyone for making it out on Saturday! For a first of the year REC game at Hell's Survivors, we had a pretty decent turnout!
Just a few comments I would like to make.
First off, over-all while I was reffing I saw some really great sportsmanship on Saturday. Everyone seemed to be calling their hits, and I couldn't tell you how many times I saw players unsure if they had gotten hit by a ricochet, or just unsure if they were even hit still call out. Great job to those who were doing that and THANK YOU.
I got to jump in and play for maybe the last 3 hours of the day and I experienced a few personal encounters with seeing my round hit a player, but not call their hit, however I attributed it mostly to the cold weather so I would try and shoot until they called out or just move on. Towards the end of the day I was informed by some players who also had experienced the same, but again I'm sure it was mostly due to the cold weather and reduced velocities that our guns were shooting at due to the cold weather.
For the first game we played in The Village "aka Sin City", and then we moved over to Castle Rock where we played two more rounds with the reverse 300 game. We then played an attack/defend game in the Highlands, and then made our way back to Sin City for a few more games.
As for where Pagan took the last group of players for the last game of the day I was unsure of since I was packing up ready to head home, however we really only saw half of the field.
We never played at Tippmann Towers, or at West Point, or at Fire Base Bravo, or at the helicopter, so for those of you that played here for your first time, there's still more to see!
