Hell yeah. you read that title right, I've got some gear, and a good gun that I built over the past few months, and I'm back. yaaaay.
Anyway, I bought a Combat machine and overhauled the internals. -shs high speed gears -shs high speed motor -Reshimmed and ready to go -new low res wiring harness -Madbull TBB -Madbull shark bucking with fishbone nubbin
Externally, I have -cqbr 9.5" barrel -china DD free float -some fancy pants Pmags -Magpul front/rear flip ups
She shoots excellently, great trigger response, great sounds, nice tight groupings.
As for the rig, I picked up the APC knock off from shooterCB (I believe the brand is TMC) in MC and picked p one of those internal mag pouches, an MBITR pouch, and a medic pouch for now.
I've still got a lot of gear to pick up, and maybe a few more guns, but this is a pretty great restart point.
I was taught it was my responsibility to bring the torch of knowledge to the wastes. I may have taken the torch part more literally than they intended
The generalization here is the Daniel Defense free float rail on a 10" Platform, the KAC flip ups would be a standard sight used, but the magpul fit the bill just as well, and are also currently being used on the MOD1s.
But it's all up to personal preference. I much prefer the magpul products.
I know what people mean by mk18 mod 1, in fact I build one from a G&P mk18 Mod 0. Yours is a good example of one that is quite realistic. I was just pointing out that mk 18 mod 1 is not even a real designation whereas mk18 mod 0 was, and it was a very specific build for NSW. It is quite well understood by most geardos that a "mk18 mod 1" is a colt m4 cqbr with a DD 9.5 mk18 ris II (which I think is where the confusion enters) and the block II accessory kit. I just have noticed the term "mk18 mod 1" being thrown around right and left lately and being applied to any 10.5 inch m4 with a rail. Once again, I'm not saying this is the case for your build, I just saw Da Vinci's post and it came to mind)
I do realize that magpul products are often seen on sopmod block II m4 cqbrs and the type of guys running them have a lot of leeway on what they can use, you just don't see stuff like BUIS being swapped much compared to things like stocks and grips. Anyways, to keep it on topic yours looks great and I like the wear that is forming on the grip.
