Thanks for hosting it guys. Even though we had a small turn out fatty and I had a blast and enough welts for a large op. Hopefully more people will turn out for the next one.

I would like to thank the 7 players that came out, as well as Thomas from T.C. Paintball for allowing us to host on his field. He has made some wonderful improvements to the field and with what he has planned the field is only going to get better. I took 26 pictures that will be posted to our Facebook page here.

Good, photos are up. This was a nice day folks. Came out and it was nice and cool switching between bright and grey. Perfect fall weather to be out there. Very small group of people but it wasn't a problem. There were jibs, there were jabs, there were no REAL problems that I was aware of. Was pretty much 4 on 4 shooting from the hip all day.
The CC guys are admittedly new to the role and are still finding their groove, but they seem to have the right attitude and if they can run the show at TC good and proper this winter I think that will be a nice and relaxed pace to really cut their teeth until next season. I didn't have any problems with them and they looked relatively diligent in their efforts to do their jobs and make a good impression.
Tom, the new manager of TC is a pleasant man who has years of experience in the paintball business but none in airsoft so we tried to acclimate him as best we could. He seems to be a relatively serious and energetic man with big ambitions for the field, a pleasant demeanor and a direct business attitude. He is very much there for the business and is doing the best he can to get the whole field fully upgraded as efficiently as possible in the time he has before snow.
You can see some of the changes he's made to the village in the photos, which has mostly been recycling flotsam and relocating other field items to make a denser field makeup. Some of it is professedly soft cover that is only temporary but I think the lot of us agreed that it's just fine for its intended purpose. I think that many of us were somewhat worried about changes made to the field but what we saw were positive clean up and then build up. Tom laid out his plans for us for the rest of the field over the next few seasons and while we don't want people to get the wrong idea, I am of the opinion that he has a balanced and ambitious plan in mind for the whole place. I will say that he seems to be planning to do the BIG changes first, rather than put them off for somewhere down the line that just never comes.
Folks are going to have to get used to stricter enforcement of face cover and barrel covers. Tom made it very clear that he's not interested in messing around with slacking in those regards so as not to have a repeat of what happened to the previous management. Some of you know, some of you don't but we've been slowly trying to build up barrel covers as a regular practice in airsoft for field safety, just like paintball. Show your support and comply.
Also while the CC guys are talking about getting shemaghs and cloth wraps recognized as protection by the insurance company, remember the disparity in priorities. No disrespect intended at the CC or TC folks but don't hold your breath on those lawyers. Grab your paintball masks, get your thermal lenses or slap on that armored grill guard that prevents your cheek weld. The CC guys were trowing around the idea of starting to carry maybe a small variety of face cover options in the future for people on the spot. Talk to them, show your support with questions, suggestions and left overs they can use. I know that red on my head is as good as a bullseye on my balls but that's what I have to work with.
--- I enjoyed myself out there, got stung pretty damn good! Windows seem to give people magic armor or something though. And whoever brought the riot shield, thank you. It was fun to just have that to screw around with in a small game like that. Our younger kids in attendance were light on gear but heavy on energy. Tyler was notably aggressive and all over so props to him from the old guy. And screw you fat pack ninja, you glorious bastard sneaking all over the place like a boss. I was so ashamed of myself when you snuck up on me and Tyler with that shield. We had just worked out a plan and were about to burst out of cover when you Sulu'ed us. Had a nice long lunch break under that new awning. Made the day nice with the pow wow time and gun maintenance.
It later occurred to me that some of the things I said to the CC guys near the end were maybe not as encouraging for them as they were for me. My first instinct was to get the field back to the way it used to be, when I was comfortable with it but I didn't realize till I got home that that's npt really a fair or realistic expectation. So what I want to see instead is the CC guys get the support and attendance and experience they need to consistently and reliably run their games out of TC without them faltering from discouragement or being overwhelmed as some large events have been known to do.
So if you're interested in knowing more about the field and the events hosted there, talk to CC, make these the go-to guys. Give them the support and the smacks in the head they need to help get this field back in regular rotation again.

I don't think anyone could have put together a more thorough or eloquent analysis of the field and new management, thank you.
As for future Rec games we are planning on having monthly, or even bi-weekly games so make sure to keep an eye out on MiA and our Facebook page for more information.
