I'm looking to order my gun this weekend. dallas and Fish who debated in this thread: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=newb&action=display&thread=44613 that I should consider the G&G in my decision as I had found the VFC and really loved it. (Note I didnt come across the G&G model ) I know nothing about guns and manufacturers (well not nothing, but no real life experience). Two 416 models.. This is what I came up with. Can you all speak from experience and weigh in on which gun might be the better? www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=10513 G&G Unlicensed, has pneumatic blow back. $50 less, better internals? www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=7083 VFC Licensed H&K, no blow back $50 more, slightly more realistic? I'm not so worried about price. I just want the better performing gun. I think both look exceptionally nice. The VFC has a nicer stock (so what). The G&G has blowback which "seems" like it would be sweet.

I'll start with the basics. Blowback on an AEG sucks. Hard. It's a piece of metal tinking back and forth. You can't feel it, you can't really hear it, it's just a novelty gimmick that runs dry after about 5 minutes. You can rule that right out as a deciding factor.
On to the real stuff. I love G&G. I've owned a couple and used them as my go-to AEG for years, and they were great. I recommend them all the time because I think they make a very nice out-of-the-box gun. The VFC 416 is hands down the better gun. Everything about it is better looking and better feeling. Internally, the two are pretty much on par. VFC's SCAR line was plagued with problems, but their AR line has proven to be quite solid, as has G&Gs. But most importantly, we're playing with glorified toys assembled in Taiwan. Eventually they're going to wear out and break, and eventually you're going to have to do some repair work. There's no way to tell which gun it'll happen to first. Across any of the high end brands (TM excluded, 99% chance it'll live longer than you do), you're getting similar reliability and similar lemon rates. The rub here is that both guns accept all of the same upgrade and repair parts with a very fair few exceptions. Repairing each will cost the same in terms of both money and labor.
If I had to guess, I'd say that my VFC out ranges my old G&Gs, but because I can't put them side-by-side, I couldn't tell you for sure. Subjectively, I feel like I reach out a bit better with the VFC.
The price difference is the only comparison the G&G wins. If you can afford the VFC, get it and don't ever look back.

Well put Knief.
One of our team mates currently has the VFC 416 and he runs a 11.1 lipo (not upgrades) and nothing has been burnt to a crisp yet.

That's what kind of figured reading reviews of other G&G vs VFC guns...
G&G a bit faster, but VFC as a little better range. The VFC externals are better. Internals more or less the same.
Kudos on the blowback. I think I'm decided on VFC.
Now to figure out with what to power it.

I use both in RC. Lipo means I'd need a LVC detector as a full drain is death to those. (Not a big deal as long as there's room) Either way I would be needing a charger.
Any pros/cons to Lipo vs NiMh in Airsoft? I mean from a real usability PoV? In my mind Lipo is a better battery but I'm open to education.

In airsoft, a lipo usually means you're getting the same amount of power and capacity in a smaller space or more power and capacity in the same amount of space. In your case, it doesn't make much of a difference because you're putting the pack in your stock either way. The lipo will fit in your buffer tube, the NiMh will fit in the compartments inside the stock. The 11.1v Lipo will give you a better ROF, but at 1100 mAh, you're losing some capacity. As long as you're not going all Rambo on your trigger, it shouldn't matter much.
I don't know too many people who use a low voltage detector for their lipos. You can, and it's safer. But if you're paying attention to your gun, you can hear when it's dying a ways out. You just have to be conscious about pulling yourself out of the game or switching to a second pack when you hear it coming.

I only have experience with the VFC, but my thoughts:
Great externals except for all of the warnings/BS from Umarex or whoever. I've been told you can scrape them off, but I've just planned to paint over them.
Mine shot super hot out of the box, north of 420 with .20s from what I remember.
It's rather front heavy. Not a particular downside, just something to be aware of. I'm not sure if the G&G is any lighter.
I've run an 11.1 lipo in my stock with no issues yet.

If you already have the setup for lipo's and experience with them I'd say go lipo. I wouldn't use a lipo battery more than 11.1v for an airsoft gun. And knief, those batteries are a little pricey being that for half the price of this you can get this

Sieve, that lipo you linked won't fit in the 416 crane stock, the ones Knief linked will.

Oh I know that I was just saying how a Hobby site has much better deals than airsoft sites. If he wanted to look through that site I linked I'm sure the OP could find a cheaper/better option that would fit. EX: this vs this

Normally, I would agree, but most hobby retailers don't stock buffer tube sized lipos. Xheli does but since more and more airsofters are finding out about them, the most used sizes are off ten out of stock. Tacticaltigerairsoft.com has excellent buffer tube sized lipos starting at $10.
