Hello all. I'm looking to upgrade to a MOLLE vest soon, and I'm unsure which style and accessories I should choose. I know about AEGs and some about GBBs, but I'm pretty lost in the gear section. For the vest itself I want a vest that is lightweight and compact, but still has enough real estate to house plenty of stuff. I'm mostly concerned about styles right now, I'm not worried about brands. I run a SIG, whose mags are about as wide as G36 mags, so I don't know what kind of mag pouches I should run. The gear I want to carry with me on the field as of now consists of: 6 SIG mids 2 extra pistol mags Holster (undecided on location, was thinking hip or drop leg) Hydration carrier (already have it) Extra battery
That's all I can think of for now, feel free to suggest the other stuff I should carry. I know I want a dump pouch also, but really I'm kind of lost in pouches and stuff to get other than mag pouches.
Any and all help is appreciated. Feel free to add any info that might be important in the gear world. Thanks!

These are great, but I was looking more along the lines of something like the RRV. That is about the amount of real-estate I'm looking for, but doesn't have the MOLLE on the back needed to carry a hydration carrier, MAP, etc. A couple styles I've considered are the MBSS, FAPC with cumberband, and the FBSE. I really like the JPC and Chassis by Crye, but even the replicas run ~$130, which is a bit more than I wanted to spend.

EI SPC (or replica) LBT 6094 (or replica) Paraclete HPC (or replica)
might fit the bill as far as small PCs if you're wanting something a bit different from the JPC.
The ATS Modular Chest Harness is one chest-rig designed so that a hydro can be added. I run mine with the hydro and the padded harness and it's pretty comfy. It isn't designed to run a MAP, however.
Why not just go with the RRV and back panel if that's what you're interested in?

Why not just go with the RRV and back panel if that's what you're interested in? I didn't know one was available . However, I did find an affordable version of the JPC: www.ebairsoft.com/skirmich-jumper-plate-carrier-khaki-p-5994.htmlI've heard EB makes solid budget carriers, correct me if I'm wrong. But it's kinda hard to estimate the amount of real estate I'll need if I don't know all the stuff I should be carrying. What do you guys carry when on the field? I know you can't list it all, but I just need a general idea of the space I'll need to accommodate it.

Hydro, Triple shingle, double 5.56 pouch, M249 pouch for dumping or spare M249 mag when I run support. (Currently sits on right side of rig where empty spot exists in photo.) Hydro carrier on back, charge pouch on hydro pouch for storage pop flare down for misc storage. Bib folded down. Charge pouch carries: MRE Medical supplies tailored to me and my needs. I'm not in a combat environment so I don't need tourniquets etc. Leave that shit to the professionals. Whatever Misc thing I need. 5 Mags 3l Hydration MRE Radio Medical Supplies Goggles, Gloves, Kill Rag, Shemagh Helmet RRV That rig is designed to carry what I NEED for fast action.

Those are some great examples. Those are exactly what I needed to get an idea of what I need and don't need, and answered pretty much all my questions. I'll look at pouches on EB tonight, and post any questions I have then. Only question I can think of right now: what kind of mag pouches should I buy? SIG mags are really wide, like G36 mags. I'm not sure if they'll fit in STANAG pouches. The alternative I can think of now is AK pouches, but I'm not sure if those will be great either.

HSGI TACO magazine pouches are adjustable and can fit G36 or SIG magazines. The real steel pouches are a bit pricy, but I believe replicas can be had. www.skdtac.com/HSGI-X2R-TACO-Double-Rifle-Magazine-Pouch-p/hsg.314.htmThe link goes to the "double" TACO magazine pouch, but they make singles as well. In general, a STANAG magazine pouch that carries two M4 magazines will hold one G36/SIG magazine.

Tacos look great, I'll see if I can find some replicas. The studs on the sides of the mags can make getting them in and out of their current pouches awkward. The ideal solution might be to make the pouch out of kydex, but that's still just something I'm looking into. After some research, people use use AK pouches, M14 pouches, and 3x3 M4 pouches. I think I'll go with the 3x3 if no taco replicas can be found. I'll also consider those Aggresors, those actually look pretty cool.
