I have an ICS L85 on the way and need to order a battery for it. I keep hearing conflicting things on what sizes will and will not fit from various sources so I was hoping someone could give me a more definitive answer here.
I have some experience with batteries (mostly LiPos) from RC planes and helicopters, but this is my first AEG and it seems a bit less obvious to me how to match a battery to a gun.
I think I have a NiMh charger with a large Tamiya connector somewhere, but I would need to either resolder stuff with deans or buy a new charge adapter for my smartcharger if I went with a LiPo. Unless there's going to be a noticeable difference in trigger response/rof with the LiPo I may go NiMh out of convenience.

If you have experience with LiPo batteries from RC planes and whirlybirds, then you should also know that the Tamya connectors are very inefficient. Go with deans just to cut down on loss. Also you talk of convenience, personally I don't use NiMH batteries due to how inconvenient they are. If you want them to last and give you their best performance, you have to fully discharge them prior to charging them, every time. I just charge my LiPo batteries, before a game, and really don't care what their status is prior to charging.

Yeah all my RC stuff is deans, I just don't currently have access to a soldering iron...not that it would be too hard for me to pick one up.
Hadn't thought about the charging properties of NiMhs, it's been a really long time since I've dealt with them at all. Definitely a good point.

If you are near Madison Heights, you could stop by my work and I could solder it up for you.
