I don't exactly know if this is the right place to ask the question, but I got my first co2 gun a few days ago, and I was wondering what the difference between 12 gram co2 cartridges and 16 gram co2 cartridges are (other than amount held). Also how do they match up with airsoft guns?

I believe the only difference is the amount held, but more importantly 16g canisters are longer, so keep that in mind when you load one into your pistol. You should buy the size that fits your gun, obviously. Try looking in the instruction book if you are not sure which sizes your gun should use.

That's just the problem, I bought the gun used so it has no manual with it. Though depending on how much longer the cartridge is, if it isn't any wider it would probably fit in my gun, was just wondering. Ordered 40 12 gram cartridges anyway, $.57 a piece.

*Most* CO2 airsoft guns nowadays use the common 12 gram cartridge. Some of the older, shell ejecting non-firing replicas used different sizes, but they aren't nearly as common now.
