Alternatives to Magpul setups? I am really getting tired of the same old setups: magpul AFG, magpul CTR stock, magpul body, magpul ladder rail covers, magpul flip up sights, magpul MOE pistol grip. I was just interested in hearing some ideas for some alternative setups that are actually unique.

Front ends: JP Spikes tactical bar ris
Stocks: Troy battle axe
There are tons of alternatives, it just depends on the look and function you are looking for.
I use a moe handguard on my TM M4 because it's front wired and I don't like using peq boxes.

There is a reason people use Magpul setups - the shit works.

There is a reason people use Magpul setups - the shit works. Quoted for Truth. M4's have an almost infinite number of 'unique' setups. All you really have to do it find what works best for you. My only advice is to shop around, since I'm still familiarizing my self with the leading M4 upgrades as it is. [Edit] Any gun that has this stock is cool in my book:

A setup that's actually unique these days is a plain jane M4 - keep it simple. Tango Down/replica accessories would also make suitable alternatives.

A little mix of troy, daniel defense, noveske, etc and a bit of magpul if you like can get you a pretty unique setup. I personally think that the troy vtac rail looks awesome and is very functional. The only magpul parts that really appeal to me are the ctr/moe stocks, the grips and of course pmags, I've never been into the moe handguard, there are cooler options for sights, and I think that there are better options than the AFG and vertical foregrips.

If you're having problems finding alternatives to Magpul accessories you're doing something wrong. There are literally dozens of different choices for rail systems, foregrips and stocks available that are non-Magpul/non-USGI issue. Personally, I like the VTAC stuff... And don't forget that perennial favorite: the LR300!

The vtac one that gimpalong posted above looks so sick. It's a great example of a light and functional ar15 that is fairly unique. I was in fact considering almost the exact same built believe it or not, but I personally do think that it would look cooler with a CTR or MOE stock since I don't mind a touch of magpul.

I personally love the "Dissipator" AR's. They're so unique yet so cool. And you could go classic like this: Or you could go new hotness: And it still works. I'm going to end up mocking a Dissipator with my KWA and a 12 inch DD MK12 rail.

You forgot the MIAD Seriously, you can make a good modern dissipator without all the Magpul, I just gave up searching on Google.

So what exactly have you added you the thread "Alternatives to MAGPUL" again?

[...]"Dissipator" AR's[...] I added an alternative. You don't have to use Magpul on it, I was just giving examples of both the original setup and a modern day setup with a rail system.
