Personally, I wouldn't waste my money on that vest. Everyone on this board (for the most part) will point you toward Pantac or Flyye, and while they're more expensive, they're a remarkably higher quality. I bought a Flyye RRV a while back for around $70, it's lightweight, durable, and well worth the price.
While suspiciously low cost for Oakley Gloves, I use my Oakley Assault Gloves all the time, and they're fantastic. Never used the pilot's gloves, but I imagine they'd work well, as Oakley makes a very high quality product (hopefully someone with experience with them will chime in here).

Yeah, I was thinking that too with the vest, nothing is removable, and I've read a post yesterday (can't find now) that was talking about not buying these too. Could you give me any vest suggestions that would be good for desert MARPAT? I'm really bad at gear setups, but would like to not spend too much (I'm 14, and I make my money fixing and reselling broken Xboxes.) I'm not too sure if the Oakley's are real, but they do come with a serial code or something like that...? I have nothing else to say

Even imitation Oakleys for $25 isn't horrible, but it claims to come with the documentation, so maybe they fell off the back of a truck As for gear, go Coyote Brown. Tan, in my opinion, is too light for most situations, but Coyote Brown goes with almost anything. Beyond that, there are a lot of articles that will help you decide how to arrange the pouches for optimal functionality (I.E. Keep mag pouches on weak side for the fastest reload, spare stuff on strong side since it won't be accessible while wielding a rifle).

Never used the pilot's gloves, but I imagine they'd work well, as Oakley makes a very high quality product (hopefully someone with experience with them will chime in here). I've read stories online, from soldiers, that have found the Oakley gloves to not hold up to their daily abuse. Personally, I love my Oakley Pilot gloves. I've only played 4 games with them so far, and initially they started to look worn quickly, but that seems to have lessened. So the games I've used these in was a game in February, a complete day of rain at Fueling the Fire 2, a normal game in June, and a Lion Claws game a few weeks ago (Northern Light 3). I've also worn these gloves a few times while working in the woods up north. I don't know how long they will last, but they are comfortable, thin enough to perform activities with some dexterity, and haven't worn through, torn, or blew out any stitching yet. I bought them at the Oakley store at Great Lakes Crossing for $35 (can't beat that). I like them so much, I thought I would pick up another pair for when they eventually wear out. Unfortunately they said that their store no longer stocks them since kids were buying them and then using them in fights.

Yeah, I guess I will end up buying some gloves, nothing sucks more than a hurtin' knuckle for a week. Alright I'll go with coyote brown, what retailer should I buy from though? Airsoft GI, or not from an airsoft retailer?

Airsoft GI, or not from an airsoft retailer? You better believe it, brother. Took mine off for a little bit at NL3, and was promptly shot in the knuckles at point blank range. It's now forming an impressive scar. Retailer depends heavily on what you want: Pantac, I know Evike carries certain models (mostly CIRAS variants) and Airsoftsmith has quite the selection. In order to get a decent deal on Flyye gear, you might look into overseas retailers. I wanna say I got mine from cbshootergear or something like that. Sorry, it was a long time ago. Dig around on google, find a model you like, then refine it down by retailers. Don't let their stock limit the options. Tank, that's an awesome deal, I didn't realize the pilot gloves were so affordable! If I ever kill my gloves I'll have to look into those.

If you want Pantac, buy from www.airsoftsmith.com. They have the widest selection of Pantac available in the states and they're in Ohio so shipping cost and time is minimal. They also have some of the best customer service I've ever seen. For FLYYE, I like www.shootercbgear.com and www.ehobbyasia.com. Either is fine, both are in Hong Kong so shipping will up the price.

Or you could browse around the classifieds here, there's probably still some people selling decent vests, and there will most likely be more added.

The normal price on them is at least double what I paid, but that Oakley store is an outlet store, so their prices are awesome. I've been meaning to find out if I can order them through them, or if they just get whatever stock Oakley decides to give them.

Definately buy Pantac stuff from Airsoft Smith. I ordered my RRV from them, plus some extra goodies for free shipping, and it got her in like a day.

Armor plate replicas are purely optional. It'll make your vest more rigid and may help with supporting the weight (I use a handmade high density foam plate, it helps distribute the weight of my pistol on my chest, as the holster sags otherwise), but also bear in mind that they can hamper your flexibility. It's a comfort issue, really- personal choice.
Hydration packs are an absolute necessity. From the looks of it, that vest has a MOLLE webbed back plate, you should be able to find a MOLLE compatible hydration carrier and weave it onto the back of the vest. They're available everywhere from airsoft retailers to military surplus stores, and will provide a lower profile rig than a full pack with straps, and you won't have to worry about vest and hydro pack straps bunching up against one another.

Are there any other necessities that I'm missing? Maybe boots/helmet?
