Greetings all! I've been lurking for a while now (since April), absorbing as much information as humanly possible, but I feel it's finally time I come out of the dark. My name is Coty and I'm an avid do-it-yourself-er/musician by night, actuary by day, and soon to be airsofting weekend warrior. I'm currently living in Royal Oak with my first airsoft setup en route to my doorstep. It is definitely a work in progress (will it ever not be?), but it at least contains the basics to get me out on the field. With a little luck, it'll all arrive before the Suicide Kings' event on the 23rd: miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=events&action=display&thread=43562I'm just as eager to get out there and sling some plastic as I am to put a face with all these names. So please come say hello if you plan on attending the event. I can't tell you how thankful I am for forums like this with readily accessible, coherent information about this glorious money pit of a hobby. I'm not sure if I've ever been so excited to spend money. I truly look forward to contributing back to the community in some fashion, some day soon. Side note: I have to thank Pagan and VictorDelta for their extreme patience and speedy input. They spared you guys of all my noob questions, so you may want to thank them too!

Welcome to the forum buddy!
Be warned, this place will only make your addiction worse. ;D
Funny, all the time we've been talking, I never realized you're a musician too.

Be warned, this place will only make your addiction worse. Understatement of the year. It is true though, I dabble. What do you play?

I've been playing bass for almost 20 years now, and I play a bit of acoustic guitar as well. I've also been building guitars and basses from scratch for about 6 years.
I did the whole band thing until three years ago, and then I just got sick of the drama involved.

A luthier eh? Nice! I have a lot of respect for you. One of my DIY projects involves my guitar and it's undoubtedly the most difficult project I've ever tackled. I'll fell you in at the event.
I agree about the drama. My brother drummed for a band and got out of the scene a couple years back for the same reason. Every now and again we'll get together and jam for a while though. I play quite a few instruments, but I mostly stick to keys and guitar.
