Hi all,
I've got a KWA MP7 coming my way and I'm trying to get a handle on what velocity to expect. My plan is to run it outdoors, so I'd like it to chrono below 400 fps. This may require the installation of a Dangerwerx valve or NPAS.
Many sites advertise the gun as firing "380+," but I've seen a wide variety of figures.
While air temperature will factor into what the gun will ultimately chrono, I'd like the scoop from actual owners.
What does your KWA MP7 chrono on a "regular" (70-80 degree) summer day?

I don't own an MP7, but we just had a player bring one to our field. It shot right around 387-390. He had also purchased the KWA low power bolt, and that shot right around 300.

I feel late to this post, but I hope my information can help.
I was the player in question and the information is about spot on.
Stock gun with propane and .20gs came out chroning at I believe 380FPS. Well over what is allowed in most indoor ranges.
I had also gotten the KWA low power bolt assemble for the MP7, which is a fairly cheap part, and a super easy change out. Literally pop out two pins, slap in the new bolt and you're done.
With the low power bolt I went from 380 to 270. While this was a fairly large drop, it was still effective in CQB and got a few good tags with it.
I have not used it out in the heat as of yet, but this was under room temp conditions, so with heat being factored in, its likely to shoot a bit hotter then the temps I recorded.

Thanks for the update.
I ordered a low power bolt along with a few extra goodies.
I'm principally an out-door player, so chronoing at 380-400 isn't a problem per se, but I'd still like to be able to bring the gun in-doors on occasion, and the low power bolt seemed like the easiest solution.

My KWA KMP9R literally chrono's with .2's @ 409-410fps. Good call on the low-powered bolt! I need to get one as well. Where did you get yours from?

I purchased mine along with a bunch of other goodies for Op. Northern Light at Airsoft Outlet Northwest.

Stock, on a hot day, you can easily hit 400 fps. To increase the fps, I wouldn't recommend a valve. I would first recommend a TBB. For some reason, the TBB's in the MP7 increase the FPS like crazy! Your FPS will easily swing 50fps or so from dead cold frosty morning to a warm 70-80ish (at least mine did last week, which sucked when the re-chronographed and I had to leave the field). Once it gets to temperature though, it is very stable. Whatever your setup is, you NEED to test it at the highest temperature possible, or you will be boned.
For an example on the low side of the spectrum, I put in a low power bolt, and at frosty morning temperatures, I was shooting a stable 299 fps +/-2 fps. 2 hours later, when it warmed up, I was at 330. I've got a newer limiter valve now, and I'm hoping it works, because the limit at this place is 300 fps.

Damn, brother. I've got a spare dangerwerx flute valve I'm not using.

From what I've gathered the LM4 PTR has a lower muzzle velocity than the MP7, which makes no sense. Not sure what KWA was thinking there.

If you need to increase the FPS, it is very easy to do so on KWA's sub-machine guns. It is NOT so easy to reduce the FPS to be within playable limits. If its 90+ degrees in the summer, do you think you will be under 350 FPS with a stock MP9 or MP7? NO. WAY. If they can keep the fps down, props to them. The guns aren't designed as field guns, and they don't really need it IMHO. It especially sucks if your indoor field requires 300 FPS or lower.... /sigh
