I'm looking to go down the contractor loadout path. I'm looking at some 5.11 Tactical clothing and I'm looking for some opinions. Does anybody have experience with 5.11? How do they hold up against other brands (Durability, color, etc.)?
Thanks.

I currently own 2 pair of 5.11 pants (down from 4) and 4 5.11 shirts (2 long and 2 short) wore them pretty much daily all through high school. Now I wear them exclusively for airsoft. The clothing is made to last, very heavy material but still light enough to wear all day/night if you needed too. The pockets are great and the stitching especially where it counts like on the knees and seat of the pants is really nice and strong. Beat the hell out of all my 5.11 gear for the last 7-8 years and have not one slight fray or tear in them. When washed they actually look brand new still.
The pants have reinforced knees, very large/deep slash pockets front and back, with a strap across the one of the back pockets for baton etc.. utility pocket and metal D ring up front. I usually keep my e2e in the utility pocket, really for anything though. Its small enough to where it doesnt get in the way or look goofy but i can actually comfortably and securely store a single AR mag there, and now that I run an AR I usually run one there since I lack pouches currently.
The shirts are heavy stitched and reinforced and made out of great material. Comfortable to wear and really designed to hold gear. They have the classic front pockets with a lot of room but what I really like about them is the huge "concealed" slash pockets they have on either side. I can fit 5 full size dvd cases (the fat ones) or a full size pistol+mags in either side if i wanted. It doesn't conceal or look pretty obviously but they are huge for storage. A lot of times if I wear it as an overshirt I throw my wallet on one side and my phone on the other. I forget they're there. The shirts can hang long enough to conceal a weapon on a belt/hip and are easily and quickly swept away. Breathable back helps keep cool.
Well as you can tell, I really can't say enough about their line of clothing and gear. Like I said I wear mine and beat it up a lot (8 years worth) and they still look new and are very comfortable. They're worth the money, especially for a contractor airsoft route you won't have to worry about "messing up your cothes" not that I think you would if you bought them specifically for airsoft..but it's good to know they'll hold up and you won't be replacing ripped or shredded clothing after 2 outings. Definitely get some if you can.

5.11 tactical pants are my choice for work pants, I am fairly abusive to them while at work and all of mine are holding up really well, but there isn't too much more I can add that Fission hasn't already said about their gear.

Can't really top what Fission said as far as detail goes but I also stand behind their pants, especially the Tac-lites. My entire uniform at work is made up of 5.11 gear and not only is it durable but it is also extremely comfortable - considering Im wearing the uni for 12 hours a day, that means a lot.

I've been using a set of 5.11 boots for years. I've used and abused them like no other and they refuse to quit.

5.11 is one of those brands that you never regret buying anything from. My 5.11 boots are hand-me-downs and are still going strong.
