I've read as much as I can about guns and I have decided on G & G. I'm only really playing because my friends want to, I also want to, but as a hobby that isn't going to drain my pocket book. That being said, I want to spend approx. $200 on a gun. I love the price on the combat machine, but i'm unsure of the differences between all the guns here: www.airsoftgi.com/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=combat+machine&x=0&y=0I'm not a fan of electric blowback because of the things I have read. Can someone explain the differences? I like the idea of full metal railing, but do any of those have that? So confused. Also, is there anything similar in another brand that would give me great bang for the buck? I know smaller magazines are important, is there some place I can get cheap good quality ones? And finally, what is the most IMPORTANT accessory for a noob, Sight? Red dot? I want to be somewhat accurate? Finally, for a noob, what would I need battery wise? I'd like to have a big battery so i don't worry about it dying, also how many should i get? 2 batteries for a day? Also which size? Thanks! in advance, I want to buy soon and am comparing different prices and such. Links to products welcomed as I search.

Pretty much everything on that page you linked over $150 has Electric Blowback. The ones that don't have blowback have plastic rails instead of metal rails. Another brand for the same quality and price would be KWA. They just released their CQR series which is around $190. This is very inexpensive for KWA as their higher end AEGs are over $250 and the only difference is that the lower receiver is plastic. If you get the G&G, you will most likely have to replace the inner barrel (around $35 for decent budget barrel). Neither company comes with a battery or charger (most quality airsoft guns don't) so that is another cost you will have to factor in. Lastly, you may want go to mechbox.com and learn how to shim and regrease an AEG for the best performance and longevity. For Batteries, you really only need 2 at most if you're using one gun. A good old 9.6V 2200mah battery will do you good ($20 off amazon). Most of the time for M4's (No full stocks), you're going to use mini's and nunchucks. $20 smart charger as well.
Mag wise, if you use an M4, good old MAG M4 Mid Caps will get you the best bang for your buck, and they're around $5 a piece around here used.
IMO, most important ACCESSORY would be a sight, or maybe a bitch grip. Now, upgrades is where you want to dump your money. Put in a nice Tight Bore Barrel (Madbull if you want to go cheaper) for better accuracy, Metal Bushings, maybe drop an M110 in there if it doesn't come stock. Got some R-Hop in there as well for accuracy. Shim, and make sure everything inside is running great as well.
Not much on a gun. Search the forums here because you can get sweet deals on stuff here.
E-Dit: If you don't care for used, JAY has a sweet deal (http://miairsoft.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=commerce&action=display&thread=43000)

None of those have a metal railing. They are all polymer. As far as bang for your buck on your first AEG the combat machine is what you want. I don't recommend a sight. I spent 70 dollars on a nice red-dot before I realized that I couldn't really see down it with my mesh lower face mask and honestly even without the mask I never really liked it. If you are just playing with friends I assume you are either doing backyard games or recreation games at a facility which means you would probably enjoy using the 400 round hi-caps the most. Before dropping money on mid-caps (100ish rounds) I suggest borrowing from a friend for a couple of games to see if you like it. Battery depends on which type of gun you get. For the combat machine m4 it is either in the stock ( www.all-battery.com/96v1600mahCraneStock-11450.aspx) or the handguard ( www.all-battery.com/96v2000mahnunchucknimhbatterypacksforairsoftgun.aspx). I use the nunchuck in the second link and have never had it die during 6 hour games.

Well, the ones in the $200 range did have metal rails, but the electric blowback gearbox is crap so I'd still avoid it. Also, bobbunny, saying "get some R-hop in there" isn't really going to help him out. It is a great upgrade to any AEG but without explaining it he doesn't know what the hell you are talking about, especially because it doesn't come stock in any airsoft gun. scubastevie, R-hop is a modification to the stock hop up by extending surface area contact with the BB in the hop up chamber, giving it a better spin. What's really great about it is that it can be done for very cheap and get huge range increases. Here's a guide to it: www.airsoftforum.com/board/hop-installation-manual-t225374.html

My friends are playing in events, someone is hosting one on the 26th that is a friend of a friend, which is why i'm getting into it.
I don't want to open the gun and have to replace anything right out of the shoot. I like JAY's setup but i'm confused on the brand of gun.
Finally, is electric blowback that bad? I really like the G & G guns. is it worth changing the inner barrel?
I want to be able to play a couple times before i worry about adding and stuff.

All of those I linked are the same internally. The only difference is the length of barrel and whether or not they have a rail system.

Gun Barrel Gloves and Battery all look fine to me. Charger is up to you they can be found very cheap for the basic ones, and even basic smart chargers can be found inexpensive. I have a pretty elaborate charger for mine and little experience with anything else so I can't vouch for the integrity of anything to show you exact links to known good products but I'm sure you'll get links for it. paintball mask will work for your first time but you'll probably want to change it after your first time out if not awesome! mid-caps I'd look for used on here, there are some really good deals on some lots, JAY had some D-BOYS ones for $5 per and was a good deal. If they're still avail I'd check that out.
You'll really like the gun, 3 of my friends bought them and they've been running great for them. Have fun!
