Just a personal gripe with me, I saw a lot of kids (And grown men alike) running around with actual military insignias on collars and in appropriate places, I have to say this is where you're crossing the line from pretending to impersonating. Also same thing with actual patches of real military groups/awards (I.E: Ranger Tabs / Special Forces Tabs), it's not my field so I wasn't going to start getting into anyone for it and causing a problem, but you guys know who you are, and you should probably take those devices off and just enjoy the game for what it was. Yeah in my opinion i think its disrespect towards actual military personel with those ranks. Even if you are military personel playing airsoft you still shouldnt wear it during a game. Just my opinion. I use to play with this team that would give out ranks based on how many kills you got. X.x Actual military personnel? I'm on post deployment leave from an 8 month combat deployment in Afghanistan not 30 days ago kid, what the fuck would you call me? Fake military personnel? EDIT: I was wearing my actual FROG suit that I deployed with, and it was my actual rank. Not like I was putting on CAPT bars or something man.

You know, with how muddy it was out there, I was expecting to slip and fall in the mud. Nope, I fell over a downed metal cage thing. My foot got stuck on it and no matter how hard I tried to rip my foot free, it wouldn't. It was the absolute slowest fall in history! I remember thinking, is this really happening? I should lift my gun up so I don't fall on it. Huh, that looks pretty soft and not muddy, glad I'm falling here. Laugh, slowest fall ever. On a side note, everyone on my team tripped over something and took a dive. Credit goes to Deathdealer for the quietest, unnoticed fall of us.

Sorry for being a competitive player, anyone who thought I was too aggressive today needs to put down their purse before they pick up their gun. I have been attending MIA OPs since 2004 and have never experienced the singling out like I took today.
Kill Rags, for at least five years MIA games require kill rags along with full seal goggles, they go hand in hand. You know damn well the reason you get shot when out, is because you didn't have a kill rag, don't be a bitch about it, you can get a box of red shop rags for dirt cheap.
LARPing, someone warn me next time any foam weapons and midevil garb is going to be there, ill be sure not to come.
Today changed my perspective on what Michigan Airsoft is becoming. Being kicked out for shooting someone with no kill rag on, no arms up, is hilarious to me. The ref did not see what I saw in my scope. Then he proceeds to accuse me of shooting one of 5 guys I tried to bang kill behind a bunker. My apologies, bang kills were always the safe thing to do. If a sniper has the ability to have his barrel at your chest, call it for Christ sake, and be happy he didn't rack the bolt. This is a game of honor, and safety, I followed both all god damn day, as I have for years, and get removed from the game for it. I'm not a Dick like this often, but Fuck that ref.
It's a shame airsoft isn't what it was anymore. It used to take dedication to the game to afford a Tokyo Marui, CA, G&G, or ICS. Thats all that was really out when the times were good. I feel like I can't go to a game anymore without an issue happening between multiple individuals.
Thank you to all the organizers who helped me get back in the game. My apologies again if I did anything to ruin someone's day. Its a good field. I had a great time with old buddies, despite the rain, all the thwaps that weren't called, and me getting Fucked over for someone else's lack of responsibility. Last I recall, any game hosted on Michigan Airsoft Forum, must follow the rules of the community, guess not.

But still I'd rather people not wear them because you never know if its actual military personnel or just some guy with a Captain rank who thinks hes badass because he got that for killing so many people. I got four friends in the service that agree with me and I even asked a military personnel group one of my friends is in on facebook on there thoughts about it and they all said the same thing.

Cool story bro,
In case you're just mentally retarded, I am active military. It's as simple as this, if you're not actually in the service, leave that shit off man. I wore two collar devices in the proper locations on my FROG suit. I don't give a shit how many dudes you have in the service, or who you know on "Facebook". I'm not going to de-rail this thread anymore than that. You've shown more retardation in this past 3 hours than you'll possibly be able to redeem. You joined MiA in 2011? I was in Now Zad on patrol, and had already been promoted to HM3, which is the rank that I wore today on the field.
If you have anything else to add to this, PM me for my address and we can continue this conversation in person.

Nah thats alright, I'll just ask anyone i see wearing ranks what they did to earn them, have one guy with them tell me a good war story about how they displayed leadership or saved lives, and laugh at the ones who tell me they got it for having 500 kills in airsoft.
Btw I never said you weren't active military, I was just speaking about military personnel in general. No need to get hostile and call me retarded.
But anyways moving away from this random hostility that derailed the thread. Anybody else' scopes or red dots die from the rain?

First off, props to team RAGE. Had a great time running with you guys at this event.
Second, I'm not sure if it was the weather, or something in the water or maybe just a collective man-period, but there were a lot of bad attitudes at this event on both sides.
The good news is that no one came to blows (as far as I am aware) or was injured in a fall or accident. Cannot improved on that.
Splatmandu is a great field, and the owner is a great guy. It's always nice to see Crazy Cromag come out with his wares.
Reffing could have been a lot better and the ref who was in charge of the green dead-zone did little more than yell loudly in players faces.
Kills rags are an absolute must. Put one on your head, hold your gun the air and yell "dead man," "dead man, coming through," etc. If you're not doing these things and you get shot, well, frankly, that's your fault not the shooter's.
For a game that was DOA a month ago due to the event organizers changing every other day, a lot of the major faults ("it wasn't MILSIM enough!") can, I suppose, be forgiven. The Vader helmet was a bit much...
Bottom line: Not as good as FTF I.

Livonia, were you the guy that was trying to snipe us out in the woods? I was with Helmet and about 5 other guys someone took two shots then called themselves out. The first one I don't know where it went, the second definitely came close to me as I heard it tearing through leaves, but I know it wasn't a hit. When I mentioned that person calling themselves out, I wasn't saying it was a bad thing. For the record I think the only rules that must be followed are the FPS regulations. Otherwise, there must be a big bolded statement on the event thread which says that it doesn't comply. I agree that there should be bang kills in airsoft, but if I had a 50' I would definitely be carrying a pistol just in case. In the future if something like that happens you can borrow mine I got a spare. Sorry if I came off the wrong way in my first post. I think if you attended some Hellfish/Suicide Kings ops you would be see that airsoft is still just as great as it was previously. I don't mean to sound like I'm sucking their dicks or anything, but I have never had a serious issue with their ops, and I have just as much fun as the old SFOD days. Maybe you're referring to pre-2005 (when I started) but we still had issues at those ops too. I remember my first game over at WMI I remember an instance almost exactly like yours. Some dude didn't have his red rag on and I could see movement through the brush. Put it on full auto to cut through the brush and ended up annihilating his face... oops. Difference being I didn't get thrown out (not that you should have). Shit happens, when I get overkilled because I don't have my red rag out you won't see me bitching (that one time with Sky Pilot doesn't count ) At least we have Northern Light to look forward too.

Well, since we are in the topic of bad calls. I was in a structure that was apparently a neutral zone with about 7 other guys. We were told it was a neutral zone, only after we were fortified in there and surrounded by green for about 10 or so minutes. We weren't going to head out and get slaughtered, and they weren't willing to assault. A ref came over and told us we couldn't engage a target from within the structure. So X and another guy left, to pursue a couple of closer targets. Right after they were out, the ref said oh wait, you CAN attack from here. I kind of brushed that off as just an idiot not knowing what he was doing.
Then later, when we flanked the green team's spawn, and upon realizing it was the spawn, we passed through it (instead of camping it) and headed to the next structure. On the way to it, green respawned and shot our asses up. While heading back past the green spawn we overheard the ref telling green that spawn camping is now legal. Kind of convenient that they announced that, after we just gave up a major advantage again.
Clueless or not, the refs were kind of annoying.
On the topic of overkills, if I don't have my red flag out, I expect to get shot still. Kind of annoying though when I step out from behind cover, with my gun down, and get lit up several times because I'm just standing there, out in the open. I know it's just newbs that can't tell that I'm obviously in the process of acknowledging that I'm dead, and I just deal with it.

But anyways, X I almost lost it when you bit the dust on those branches. My first instinct was if you were ok, but then I had to choke back the tears of laughter. Great to know that you have my back! Everyone on our little fire team fell at some point. Some with more hilarity than others. I'm proud to say that my falls produce the most laughter. Only thing that kept my face from hitting the ground was the stock of my gun. Ugh! Another moment that would have been priceless on the helmet cam footage. Damn you RAIN!!!

X, I just had to shake you guys up. I threw about ten rounds at the couple of you, hit two or three, and you all still stood around. I didn't realize it was spawn camping. Which brings up another point. Spawn areas should be moved if they get overran by enemy. Maybe its just that I don't like medic games at all.
Yeah I was the only one ejected out of 100 or so people, for being a competitive player. If I carried a sidearm, it would be ruined with mud instantly. I'm always running, diving, and sliding around. Perhaps I should so I can shoot everyone point blank and piss them off, instead of being ejected for not shooting them... Stupid shit.

I'm not sure we we're talking about the same thing. We were halfway between both spawns at the time. We were moving as a squad until we heard the WHESHEW of a sniper. I stopped and told everybody to get down then after the second shot we pulled back about 15-20 feet. Then shortly after you (or maybe someone else) called themselves out, mentioned something about having a 550 rifle and that we were within his engagement, and then we continued forward. We were on our right hand side (green's left) and we were closer to green spawn (although still a good distance away) past the field next to the city. After that we moved in through green spawn which is when the whole thing that Tank was talking about happened.
