So I have some property to use to build a outside cqb field in mt morris Mi. The land has a open field with some forest on the outside of the property. The land is alittle under 8 arces. Im wanting to see who would be interested before I start investing money into a field.
Rules as of right now.
350fps No full auto No loose bbs 1 high cap unlimited mid caps Camo restrictions player cap

This would be kind of ridiculous if there were no AEG's allowed

Yeah, I tend to agree. Trying to get a bit of people to attend and then not allowing AEGs is kind of contradictory. Most people own AEGs and/or would rather use them.

The thing is, not everyone owns a secondary pistol. Some people only own a primary/AEG because they couldn't afford the investment for two guns and picked the more effective of the two. Or they didn't want to get a pistol right away or just don't use them..whatever the case may be.
I myself own 3 GBB pistols (all of which currently need parts/work) I def like going pistol only so I wouldn't have a problem with this (if I get my guns fixed) but that again, would be another case where allowing AEGs would be a benefit. If someone has a pistol but is not functioning they can still come out to your field and have a good time.
The thing about a business or any investment for that matter is you should be looking for return on that investment hopefully (but not likely..esp in this sport) in short order. You'd be (no pun intended) shooting yourself in the foot before you got out of the gate by limiting your player base (substantially).
Again, I love the idea but you will get a much better turnout if you do not restrict weapon type. I understand you want to make it fair for your friends who only own pistols but there are other ways to even the odds than cutting out a specific type of gun entirely. Some suggestions I would say are limit to semi-auto only, and limit FPS ~350 or so. Yes it is outdoor which usually allows guns to shoot over 350 but to make it more fair for the pistol guys, you could limit FPS. It's your field, your rules ultimately and I wish you good luck, just trying to give some tips to make sure everyone can run and have a good time, without cutting 90% of your player base right off the bat.

Please, save yourself the grief and if you were to open up a field, make sure all players with all "weapon types" are welcome, because there are a lot of people who are itching for an opportunity to play. And if you can supply for that demand, you will build a lot of trust and eventually be able to expand if you are seeking profit. If I may make a recommendation, get some members to come out and help build your field. That'll get em' pysched.

Sounds good to me, I like the idea of getting members out to help you build, always a good time and builds interest. If you wanted you could run pistol/shottie only games every so often, (monthly/weekly for instance) To break it up without losing that player base. Good luck! Hope to see this get off the ground!

It sounds great but if it is outdoors the fps limit and no full auto would most likely need to be raised. It's outdoors so you need a higher FPS to negate most of the wind and distance to be shot.

Just my opinion, but my guys just won't be up to traveling to Mt. Morris for a field that won't allow our 400FPS assault rifles or our sniper's 530FPS rifle.

I'm with Waith. I'd easily travel to a decent field in the Flint area, but not for a field that caters to players who won't invest in an AEG to the exclusion of those who have bought what is essentially basic equipment in this hobby. It would be like running a drop-in hockey game, but saying no lifting the puck because we don't want to buy cups and chest pads.

He did say that it was an outdoor "CQB" facility guys. I think 350 would be normal.
