Im still a bit of a newbie, so I think I can still post here. Anyway, when you're doing an impression, I kinda want a SEAL/Special Forces Operator impression/loadout, but I was wondering why people are always saying "That looks nothing like a *enter force name here* loadout..." because aren't SEALs and other Special Force Operators able to choose their setup? I hope this makes sense, thanks.

Special Operations Operators use what it takes to complete the assigned objective.
That can and usually does mean that there is a wide variety of things in use. There are still must have standards but the rest are tailored to that mission.
Your best bet is to find a photo (confirmed) of an Operator and build from there.

I'm going to echo what Trust stated.
If you're going to do an "impression," that is to say a portrayal of an existing military unit, you should be recreating what that unit has verifiably used in the past.
So, while yes, Navy SEALs might have the option to use "equipment A," but if you haven't seen a photo (preferably several photos) of "equipment A" in actual use, then it is probably not something that is used.
Think of creating an "impression" as reenacting rather than predicting. If you're reenacting then you're using equipment and gear that has been shown to be used by that unit. If you're just taking whatever gear you want and calling it a SEALs "impression" without being able to demonstrate that that gear was actually used by the SEALs then you're really just predicting that they might use it, maybe, sometime, in the future. In essence, you're just guessing.
If you're creating an impression, stick to what has been verified as actually being used. Documentaries, videos, photographs and other sources of information can give you an idea of what has and possibly what will be used in the future.

Everything that Gimpalong said. Remember, "they get to use whatever they want" is worlds different than, "they would use whatever I want." Just because a unit has a degree of freedom in choosing weapons and gear doesn't mean that they would ever choose to wear whatever random collection of stuff you have. What you might want to wear and what they might want to wear completely different. So while Unit X may get to pick and choose, you don't get the same luxury if you're doing an impression of Unit X. If you want your impression to be accurate, you're limited to using whatever kits Unit X has actually used or might realistically use in the foreseeable future.

Alright, thanks. Im not trying to pick a random assortment of gear, and I am trying to go based off pictures such as get boots or helmets that they would wear. But I have Multicam ACUs and a plate carrier that I have yet to identify, but it just seems like SEALs have a wide range of what they can use, and I see people saying that their loadouts don't look like what a SEAL would wear.

Looks like that plate carrier stared it's life tan... If you were going for a darker color why not just dye it? A buddy of my spray painted a Plate carrier and the smell of spray paint never left it. It smelled fresh no matter what.

I bought it like that, but somehow, it dosent smell like spray paint. But I have looked at pictures of SEALs and other Operators wearing this style of vest, so it SHOULD work right?

The CIRAS is an acceptable vest, yes. That one however, looks like poo. Save up some pennies and get either a Pantac or Flyye Maritime CIRAS.
If you cheap out too much on gear and your uniform, your impression will reflect that and look terrible.
If you're serious about doing some kind of SF impression, whether it be SEALs, Delta Force, whatever, I highly suggest you do two things: really start cruising the Gallery here, and come sign up on the ODA 561 boards and start looking at all the source material we've collected.

You can try to sell that PC off and get some of your money back. If you're looking to do any impression of anything other than an airsofter, you're going to need something different.
