Roster update. N.A.D.I.A. If someone can make or bring a rocket. I think your team will love you. Shoot.... My friend has been working on an AT-4 based rocket launcher (not sure if it's fully finished), but he and the rest of us have to pull out of this event due to team changes and such. Me, Spectre, Machete, Ninja, TheDeisel, and Gilakend are pulling out...

I did build(just need to paint it tomorrow) a rocket launcher that in fact launches real rockets 300-400 feet with a "marker charge". It uses an electronic firing system(I designed a safety and live indicator), and features a guidance to improve accuracy. It's safe if it hits someone though, and looks more like an RPG-26.

But doesn't the rocket launcher use model rockets? If so if it lands Inndry area it could set the grass on fire. I know this cause I build model rocket kits. And I've had it happen before.

This one uses an A-10PT motor, which has a burn time of a few seconds. By the time it hits something or the ground, it will already be out.

Then the only factor is it has to be safe enough so that you can shoot someone with it at about ten feet with just a tee shirt on and cause nothing more than a bruise. Because we don't want anyone getting hurt.

If you shot someone from 10 feet away with a BB, that started with 550 FPS muzzle velocity, and all the person was wearing was at shirt, I think it would do more damage than just a bruise. Now if your talking about breaking bones, that's another story. Obviously a BB isn't going to break anything but a tooth.
Edit: By the way, I don't think my LAW shooting a NERF Pocket Vortex would be too safe at 10 feet. It travels at 126 FPS but that's a lot when you considder how heavy it is. That would be much more padded than your standard model rocket too.

I'm only looking out for the players safety. Getting hit with that Nerf rocket would hurt a lot but a hard model rocket is a another story.

I'm way ahead of you guys. After our test tomorrow, I am installing a soft foam head with a powder "marker" to protect anyone from getting hit from any distance. I will of course test it on myself to prove it is safe. And this is the size of the motor: Hold your pinky up strait. 3/4 of your pinky is the length of the motor, the width is the same as your pinky as well. The motor isn't jammed to the brim of course, there is a gap to the actual powder. Is very small, and wouldn't cause a hazard. Even I think it's barely enough to get out of the launcher with the friction on the guide rail. Testing tomorrow will soon prove if it's safe or not. Photos of her should be on shortly.
