That does look really sweet. I can't say I was familiar with what the m27 was until I did a little research, but it sure is cool to see an nice original project like this. Great work, I think the short dot looks really great on that length upper.

Maybe if it was a rangekannon upper, but since the IAR is supposed to be a machinegun, it would make more sense to mount the MG optic they use.

Good point, with a build like this, realism should be top priority.

Needs less warning sticker, and it hardly resembles an M27.

Holy threadjack Batman!
Trust, that looks incredible. I'm excited to see more pictures and (eventually) a new optic on it. And of course some internal tweaks but that's just me.

Quick question Trust. I haven't really been that tuned in, why did you saw the rail? Sorry, couldn't find an reason I haven't seen the gun outside of BF3 aswell, so i'm not sure.

Stock rails are 9 Inches long. I had to increase the length of the rail to 11 Inches to meet the specs of the M27.

He added a section of rail to it to increase the overall length of the rail. The standard 416 rail is shorter than the M27 rail and there is currently no production M27 rail for airsoft or pretty much anything else on the market that would work.

I can't justify spending 500 dollars on the 11" rail at HKParts for an airsoft gun. I know what I did doesn't look pretty but it's functional, sturdy and does its job.

Not to mention you could drop that $500 and then still have compatibility issues with the airsoft receiver. But hey, if it didn't fit then you'd have an excuse to buy a real HK right?
