I've recently picked up a Bellsouth T-388 radio and noticed it has a 1 pin PTT port. I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge if this mic would be compatible. www.ebay.com/itm/Throat-mic-1pin-Cobra-Microtalk-GMRS-FRS-2Way-Radio-/380378948285?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58905a22bdAlso, I've never used a throat mic before but have heard nothing but good things, I was wondering if anyone could share any experiences of them. How sensitive can they be?/How loud do you have to talk to have the noise picked up? How comfortable are they?/Do they shift around too much? Any other comments would be appreciated as well. Thank you. ~Shadow

Throat mics vary. I tried several of the cheap models and never had a satisfactory experience. Others say that the models from Pryme and even Firefox have worked fine for them. Comfort level is not optimal - you can get some chafing - but it's nothing you'll be worrying about in the middle of a game.
I finally broke down and bought a "real steel" unit from TCI, and while that sucker cost, it's been outstanding in every way. I can whisper and make myself clearly understood by my teammates.
Be prepared to have to return units, especially if you're working with a Bellsouth. Finding something that works with your radio, feels right to you, and delivers an acceptable level of clarity can be a trial and error process.
