So I'm looking to do a Marine Recon kit, Battalion not Force, and I need some reference pictures. I was thinking around the '06 era in Iraq, when they used MBSS'+Paca and flightsuits. If anyone has any pics or can link me to some that would be great.
Thanks!

I haven't seen it on in FOREVER, but Alpha Company: Iraq Diaries is a GOOD source of gearfap for THAT impression.

T9, it's Force Recon that uses FSBE II gear, not Battalion Recon.

T9, it's Force Recon that uses FSBE II gear, not Battalion Recon. This is false.

Is it really? I always thought of it just being Force that uses FSBE, and Batt. Recon was always running grunt gear. Sauce of Batt. using FSBE?

Both Recon and Force are stationed out of the same areas, Force is basically just a Platoon within Recon Battalion that is a little more well trained than the average sit and watch type that the rest are. Although they all go through the same general schools, Force usually does a little bit more specific training for whatever the deployment is going to entail and spends more time moving around America's many training sights to places that are unfamiliar to them and will properly create the realistic "I don't know where I am" type mindset that we find ourselves with in country.
FSBE is the basic gear given to them, if you're going old school Recon then you'll likely see more PASGT's and less MICH as far as helmets go, but if you're more recent then you'll see just about everyone of them have a MICH 2000.
Hope that helped, Mosin

Marine units are known for rarely painting their weapons. That's not to say it doesn't happen, but it is definitely less common than other SOF groups.
