Hey there, everyone. I recently broke the orange tip off on one of my cheap springer pistols. Now I am aware that they are only needed for sales from a store, but this brought up some questions from my parents. Their thoughts are that it's completely ruined and I cannot use it at a game. At a typical, official game, are there checks for real-steel weaponry, and are weapons absent of the orange tips allowed? I just wanted to clarify these things with my parents. Thanks.

Your parents need not worry, there are NO checks for anything of that sort at any local games.
The only time you'll need an orange tip affixed to your weapon is at larger national events where you'll be playing at a MOUT facility or other active military location/base. (Operation Pine Plains, etc.)

Do you know of anything pertaining to checks for real-steel weapons?

I've never been checked, nor have I ever been to an event where real steel weapon checks were performed.

Thanks for the help, I shall wait for some more info before consulting my parents.

That being said, what possible reason could you have for bringing a real steel weapon to a game? Only reason I can even remotely think of is if you were a CPL holder and had your gun in the glovebox of your car. It would be very dangerous to bring a real firearm to a game, especially if it were loaded. I think about all the accidental discharges people have with airsoft, imagine if someone picked up your real gun not knowing and popped off a shot at someone.
Real steel and airsoft just don't mix.
Fortunately nearly all of those that don't know better are too young to own real firearms, and those that are old enough generally know not to bring them.

So there's never been an incident where some (absolutely idiotic) person has brought a real gun and caused an accident?
EDIT: Your edit clarified what I wanted it to essentially, sorry. ^^

Way to jinx it. I guess I have to spend a little more cash on an actual bulletproof vest~

Even though most people have common sense, I think a real steel firearm check wouldn't hurt. Especially at Milsim events. Just saying.

At the couple games I have been to I was never checked. There is no tip on one of my guns and its no problem. Just don't bring it up. Don't show it off in public always keep it concealed and never actually bring a real steel weapon to an airsoft game. I have been asked at the last CQB if I was carrying real steel but nobody had anything except for a few pocket knifes which are acceptable.

The only thing close is a while back (4+ years ago) there was some hub-bub about a modified real steel shotgun someone wanted to use. They claimed that there was no way for real shells to be chambered , but the general consensus was that it still was a terrible idea. So no, like I said, the great majority have so far had the common sense not to mix real steel and airsoft. In fact, I'm not even sure that there's been an incident of note anywhere. Not that I've heard anyway. But CQBR is right, you probably just jinxed us.

To be devil's advocate, wouldn't the initial chronograph of the day count as a real steel check of sorts?
