are there any gbb sniper rifles sub or par 200$. No. A quality external air source will run you more than $200. It's actually very simple. You are on a budget and want something worth your time. A. JG Bar-10 B. UTG L96 Pick which one looks better to you. Both are very well documented all over the place. Both can be made to shoot well, and both can be found used for under $100. Hell, there was a UTG L96 in the classifieds selling for $45. Should you find that sniping isn't for you, both can be sold pretty easily. I think you should spend a few hours on Google searching Bar-10 and UTG L96. Find the pros and cons, and think about it.

Small guide to help give you an idea on upgrading: First Upgrade Purchases 1. PDI hop up chamber: allows use of aeg barrels and buckings (Or HP Chamber) 2. AEG tightbore barrel (6.03mm to 6.05mm recommended.) Stock barrel length is 499mm, but a 509mm barrel will suffice if the end cap is removed. A flash hider will provide cover for the small bit of barrel that is extended. 3. Soft bucking and nubbing (possibly polar stars concave spacer--is a nubbing, although the stock PDI nubbin is awesome) 4. Heavy weight bbs (madbulls are nice) 5. PDI repair kit: Cheap kit, with spare pieces for PDI hop up unit. Second Upgrade Purchases 1. Cylinder head, spring guide, and piston and accuracy cup. I prefer laylax parts but PDI parts are also very high quality. -Note: The stock cylinder will suffice just fine for now. 2. Trigger sear and piston sear. Although, the stock sears held up extremely fine, and show no signs of wear after three years of use. Third Upgrade Purchases 1. Zero trigger--if you don't buy sears, or want a total upgrade for the shell---IMPORTANT ON THE UTG MK96! Outer shell is weak 2. If not bought yet, a teflon cylinder--Still not 100% necessary 3. Heavier spring (note how other internal parts were upgraded before the spring was. This is very important Fourth upgrade purchases 1. Flash hider adapter 2. Flash hider 3. New bolt handle Note how these are not necessary upgrade parts. Some offer good durability upgrades, whiles others are for looks Check out airsoftatlanta.com for a variety of parts. Again, this is just a guide, a basis, feel free to put a list together and we can analyze it for you.

I won't be able to get the first suggested upgrades right away. But should I save my money for it? It looks worth it for 130$, being able to use AEG barrels, which aren't as pricey from what I have seen.
I like both designs, doesn't matter to me. Link to that 45$?

The guide is old and was before I worked with the PDI chamber extensively. Never got it working the way I wanted it to, and ended up switching to the HP chamber, giving it a try. The HP chamber has a design similar to the stock hop up, and is much easier to work with, but does indeed have a few same concepts as the PDI version. Keep in mind this is all related to the UTG l96 (MK96), as the VSR 10 has a different hop up that is recommended. I will go into that below. In the meantime, some more info on the l96 variant hop ups! Link to the HP chamber, the work I put into it, and the results: www.c3airsoft.com/showthread.php/hp-hop-up-24496.html^Make sure to read through the whole thread, it starts out bad, but ends up working out very very well. Link to PDI chamber works: airsoftsniper.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=maruzenrifles&action=display&thread=1794^Notice how the PDI chamber is much more of a hassle for some than it is others. Overall, I put about 100 hours into the PDI chamber with no progress, and 15 hours into the HP chamber with very nice results. I recommend the HP chamber, and check out gunnerairsoft.com for some in stock. I know of another place that sells l96 upgrade parts for cheap and is cross country, but most are out of stock at this time. As for the VSR 10, the TM Precision Chamber is one to look into if using the JG Bar 10 as the base. If you are using a TM VSR 10, shimming the stock/modding it may do it justice. For more info on my CURRENT VSR10 project, check out this thread: www.c3airsoft.com/showthread.php/vsr-10-project-thread-25460.htmlI have a good bit of info I have not yet shared, so ask away if you have any other questions. The key is, not to get all caught up in upgrades. Playing with a gun in stock form or slightly upgraded is not a bad thing. You can still have fun/do some damage on the field.

I just pm'd him. If he still has it for sale I will be playing with an L96. If he doesn't, I will wait to see what pops up on the boards. I am trying to sell my m4 so I can get a rifle, and with the extra cash after getting the rifle, I will put aside for a fund for the project. Also, Fuzzy, you may have another ghille suit to make after I get my rifle and spend some time in the field. Even though I have a good feeling that I will like sniping, I am not just going to drop all my money in before I try it.
P.S. Fuzzywolly, sending a PM about a ghille suit.
