To what organization will you be donating? As a cancer survivor I'm all for an event with this cause. I haven't decided on exactly which. There's a lot of originations out there, so I'll have to do more research on which would be "best". I do really want to do this, and I have started on an event plot-line. This will most likely be a 12-18 hour event out in Coleman, MI, where we own 69 acres of farm land. If I can find an even bigger place that will donate their land for the day, I'll be happy to do it closer to the metro-Detroit area. All the proceeds after supplies and such will be given to that orginization. I'll also try to get a raffle set up too. It's better to give money to a good cause, than to keep it. ;D Open to all suggestions/volenteers to make this happen.

If you do this I would love to join in because of cancer killing some of my close friends and family, but here is my issue I live in the lower pinisula and can't get to the detroit area with out dropping a heap of money, so why don't you have multiple events all over the state. This will also help show that airsoft can be a great thing if you take the proper procautions. If you want to know a good charity or foundation to donate to I would choose cancer research foundation. Also in my personal opinion I would post a good two to three months ahead of time when, where and the rules.

That's only really possible on privately owned fields. Of which there are very few in Southern Michigan. That way, all the cost of the game is easily recouped and you have a sizeable fund to donate.
The problem with doing charity games on fields owned by say a paintball company is that the flat fee that the company needs to allow players on the field is still there. So you have an increase in price (which no doubt many would gladly pay) which might make the game less accessible for those on a budget. As you know, the cost isn't only in entrance fees, it's also gas, BB's, etc, that the player needs to pay in order to even attend.
Not saying it's out of the question, just theorizing on the subject.

I understand that but comming from a family that has been affected by cancer a lot we would gladly pay to play at a local field. I personally wear my grandfathers old camo that was willed to me when he died of cancer in a show of respect.

I've been thinking about using my 69 acres out in Coleman, Mi for this event. It's a couple hours away from the metro area, but it's a pretty big piece of land. Since the people there are nice, I can imagine we could get more extra land for a multi-day op. Also, it's right by the town(a two minute walk), which has a dinner, pizza place, ice cream shop, subway, and more. If its too far, I can find a land own that would be nice to let us use their land, or see if a feild like Phoenix will let us host a game.

Deisel great idea man, I am a huge supporter of this thought. Don't worry about it being right in the southeast MI area because if it is set up well enough to be a good game and also for a good cause many I would think will drive a decent distance to attened.

Subway, Cure for Cancer, Airsoft, I do not believe anything can become a greater value to fun unless we add tea time for the fancy folk. Huzzah! I would definitely go out there for such activities. Edit: I just looked up Coleman, MI in Google Maps, I had no idea it was by Mt. Pleasant.

I'm thinking late July or August if possible. Will try and get a bunch of people to work on this. The game may sound way too soon for planning, but I think we can pull it off.. especially since I'm used to working on half a dozen project withing a week. If anyone has a field close by that they'd "donate" for a day or two, that'd be fantastic.

I do a lot of fundraising for breast cancer, myself and have begged and begged for people to attend events for me to raise money. I would be totally willing to go to an event like this to help support someone else's good cause

So ATS is teaming up with me to create an event at one of their 40 acre outdoor fields to help fund for cancer research. 50% of the $20 fee will be donated to American Cancer Society. I'm hoping to have it the 23rd of September(It's a Sunday, and the 24th is my birthday).
I will have more details soon, along with an event thread once we get things all thought out.
