I have just started Airsoft with my Family and Friends, but don't know a few Basic things on it. For example I see a lot of video's showing people using Nerf Tomahawk's and Nerf Battle Axes to get Melee kills. Does it depend on the event or are you simple not allowed to use nerf weapon's in Michigan Airsoft?

While there's nothing banning it, if you come to a game with a Nerf Axe, I will laugh at you as will everyone else there. You're there to shoot at people, not run around trying to melee kill them.

It Doesn't Really matter what you think or anyone else thinks. I have started playing this great game to have fun. Not be laughed at by people, and if you do laugh. I won't really care as long as I'm Having Fun.

That's fine, while you're charging in with a battle axe, everyone and their brother will be hosing you with bb's. It's an airsoft game, not a medieval LARP. There's a reason why axes and swords fell to the wayside after the advent of guns.

I won't really care as long as I'm Having Fun. Although that sounds good in theory its hard to have fun when nobody wants you on their squad and your CO refrains from giving you any important missions. Half of the fun you can have in airsoft is the social aspect. These are some of the coolest guys you'll meet and you can build friendships that will last a lifetime in this sport..what I'm trying to say is that if you show up to a game with a bright yellow Nerf axe all of the respectable members are going to laugh at you and not take you seriously in the least. If you want to be a respected player, play fair, safe and respect the sport.

Yah Carl... Just Messing with you. I really don't intend to use a Nerf Weapon on the battlefield. Just wanted to know if I could.

Yeah, didn't realize there were any 14 year old kids who knew me well enough to use my given name. Oh wait, there aren't.

Don't worry about Thor, he's moody. He is right, though. There's nothing wrong with Nerf and medieval LARPing (we play army, who are we to talk), it's just not the game everybody at the field as shown up to play. It would be like gearing up for a hockey game in cleats and shin pads. Yeah, soccer is a fine sport, but nobody at the ice rink wants to play it just now.

While all of your posts are quite good and on the spot, if you want to have a melee potential, get a rubber training knife and use that. You will feel much more badass sneaking up behind someone with a realistic feeling replica weapon than a big clumsy yellow "hey look at me and my big bright foam becon, I'm here" nerf battle axe.
That's the only way I can word it.

Although I don't yet play airsoft, I think it would be wiser just to get a replica knife. I know you just want to have fun, but you honestly wouldn't get too far with one of those. They would attract too much attention with their flashy colors. Maybe if you painted it and concealed it, that might work. I wouldn't like someone charging at me with a big 'ol black ax while I'm reloading.

If you were to use one, not saying you should, but, if you were to, use it in rec games only! When my battery dies, I sometimes run around with bare fists yelling "Chuck Norris Kill!" It is all for fun though, I don't recommend doing this unless you can take hits well.

I agree completley, it's a terrible idea, but I saw a video of a CQB match where a guy got 3 nerf kills... there was also a guy on the other team with a lightsaber- no joke! they dueled it out...pretty hilarious!
