What Chaffin said. When I painted my M4, I did a base layer of tan, then sprayed brown over it. I kept spraying brown in rough stripes and spraying over it with some tan. eventually I got something that didn't have distinct stripes, but shaded areas; some spots more tan, some spots more brown. I was quite pleased with the tan/brown blending. My most favorite paint job to date. Might be something you could to your gun. Like this, minus some obvious snakeskin:

I am not a huge fan of tan paint jobs, but I think that looks awesome! I especially like the fact that it does not have any real distinct pattern. Nice!
