If your first post had contained the information that your second post contains, I wouldn't have said a word. I've never shopped at any of the Commando Airsoft locations, I have nothing against them. I do have something against those who offer terrible support for their claims, which is exactly what you did in your first post. Your second, on the other hand, wasn't half bad, if a little too stream-of-consciousness. Keep including actual information in your posts, and leave out bullshit hyperbole like, "he carries everything," and you'll never hear a complaint from me about your retailer review.

I fully, word for word agree with Overkill. :-) Also, I, too, find it strange that while you acknowledge that different people may have negative or positive experiences with the same store, you tend to attack every person who posts a positive review about this place, which, in my opinion, reflects some personal animosity toward this store or its owner, and it's you who should answer to that, not me. And yes, I know Sam well enough since I've been buying my airsoft stuff from him for over a year, and I don't allow anybody to accuse me of being biased...And since you, Knief, are an administrator, you ought to be fair, and not offend those who disagree with you, and I actually thank you for not taking the very same path of accusations as BM..Many thanks! Also, I buy my MGS from Commandos all the time...and they're priced at $35, whereas they're $32 online...Personally, I much rather spend the 3 extra dollars and save shipping fees + three-week wait time., to hopefully get the right MG and I don’t think that I’m alone in the preference. And when it comes to pricing, I didn’t say that Commandos are cheaper than Airsplat, they are a little more expensive. Isn't it, however, still better to pay the couple extra bucks for instant possession of the gun, better customer service, and for making sure that you have the right gun and in a working order? I think so, and you certainly have the right to disagree with me (I perfectly respect your opinion, too). Oh, and by the way, I just called Sam and asked about the KWA ATP and I found it for $140, while it's priced for $129.99 on Airsplat and Evike: are we talking about the same gun, or is there, perhaps, a miscommunication? (PS), Knief: this store has three different locations and I don't think that they need me to bump their business, and yes, I do care for them, because if they were to close, I would have to find another local store to get my airsoft stuff, and I don't know of any other. Oh, and by the way, when I said "everything," I meant by it the same thing that BM meant when he spoke of "the tons of 11 and 13 year-olds in the store. I wasn't accusing I just found it odd that a first post would be supporting a store, also the ATP we could be talking about different locations I was talking about the garden city location.

I drove by, and saw the garden city shop, immediantly turned around and went in. I was speaking with the person there, he didn't even know what a combat machine was...and was very much an advocate of src. Many items being over priced, for example, they had the same gun case I own and purchased for $20 online, they had it for $40. And just about EVERY upgrade part I saw was matrix. Bottom line is, he knew just about the bare minimum for airsoft, I wouldn't even trust him holding my gun. I have no problem shopping at airsoftgi, getting a bigger selection for cheaper.

I'm going to the main Commandos store on saturday with my brother.I'll then have a better opinion on the store, from seeing it for myself.
I was only talking about the Gibraltor store, and I still think its a bit of a joke, but it is Gibraltor.
My brother has gotten a part for his AKM at the main store and he thought it was pretty cool.
I still stand by my comment that I'll probably not find much I would want to buy there because I have very specific things I am looking for and I don't buy the same stuff everyone else buys. Some stuff I buy isn't even sold stateside yet.
I met Sam at the zombie game at PT on the 19th and he seemed to be decent person and he seemed to know a good amount of airsoft knowledge.
If his stuff is a little more expensive than other places that is just the price of convenience.
I have yet to go so I can't really say much else whether or not it be positive or negative..

I know I'm new on this forum, but I thought I would tell you my expericence when I went to Commandos, in Roseville over the weekend.
My Brother and I went into this fairly small store on last Sunday. The store was full of all sorts of guns that I see when I'm looking and dreaming on the Interent. I was nice to see, and feel all the guns I have been looking at online.
It is sad that in Metro Detroit we do not have a Evike.com, or a ASGI. It was very nice to a buisness trying to bring a little bit of that here to the Metro area.
The prices were about 10% more than online I figured. With their 10% off coupon the prices looked about right too the online prices (excluding tax).
My only problem with store itself was the guy working there. I don't know if it was just a "fluke" but, this what happened to my Brother, and I.
We walk in to the store, and the Gentleman acknowledge us, and said "if we needed help just tell me." So my Brother, and I looked around, and meanwhile he gets a phone call. The rest of the time we were there he was on the phone. Obvisiously, I figured he was speaking Arabic, due to the fact he had Al Jazeera on the TV. I don't mind that he was speaking Arabic, but my brother, and I thought it was very rude that he was on the phone almost the entire time we were shopping there.
I find when I am shopping in a buisness, especially in a business of that size, I like someone to be helpful, aware that you are there shopping, and that you exist.
I could feel this way because I work the field of retail, but I feel like the customer service could be better.
I know I can't prove anything in this post, but I thought this knowledge might be useful.
That being said, I will be back to Commandos in the near future.

I have went to Commando's Airsoft many times. Mainly for BBs. He sells 4 or 5 thousand count King Arms .28 for $15. It is a good deal in my opinion. He is nice and has given me heat shrinks and gear grease for free, it is the little things that keep your customers coming back.

If you walk in there knowing the item its a good store if you don't then his basically like a car dealer selling at sticker price.

I decided judging this poor dude in the garden city shop after one time in was unfair. So I stopped back in a few days ago this time no one else was in the store so I got to talk to him.
The man was more than likely family with the owner because he knew very little about airsoft. I asked him about a few guns and I often caught him checking the tags when it clearly said src on the side.
Then I told him I was in the market for an electric SVD and asked if he had any in stock, that's when he got stumped he came over and said yea of course and picked up a springer, then realized "ohh this is a springer" so he went a called one of the other stores. Well he tells me "there is only one svd and that is the classic army which is over 400 dollars." as most of you should know that is not true.
I think all in all the people at commando's are good business people as the guy didn't try to force me into buying something but they know a very small amount about airsoft so they can't be the helpful.
*As for the prices of their stuff, its just retail markup people. You can get anything cheaper on the internet but then you have to wait and all that jazz.

Just stopped by Commandos last night. My brother in law, who had picked up a thompson from there on black friday, had told me good stuff about them. After having looked for about twenty or so minutes, my kids picked up an AK47 Kalashnikov, Colt M4A1, and L96 Mauser Sniper digital Camo. Commandos had a large and nice selection, and the customer service was good. The guy was very patient with my kids, who, naturally, had all sorts of questions, and I appreciate that.

Went into Commandos for my first time in a long while to buy BBs. To say the least, it was a success.
I should have posted this earlier, but here goes. Back in March or April I bought my KWA M9 PTP from Commandos (obviously) for $165. At the time, I didn't really care about the price, but looking back on it, I realized something. I realized that I could've saved $10+ by order from Airsoft GI because Airsoft GI's retail price on the KWA M9 PTP is $155 with FREE shipping over $100. On top of that, I would've saved 10% on the entire order. And what gets me is that Commandos sells pretty much everything they have for more money to basically even the pricing with online retail prices with shipping which does makes sense for the small stuff. But for the guns, I don't get why I had to pay an extra $10 when I could've saved that $10 and a little more. I also realize that I could've spent $5 more online to get the KWA M9 Tactical PTP and still get the 10% off making my total $153. I'm never buying any gun from Commandos again, that's for sure. Sorry, end rant.

When I lived in Milan and the shop I frequented in Toledo was still around I'd always be paying more for the same thing for the sake of having it right there and then. $14 for 3k AE bbs when I could find bags of 4k KSCs for like $10, but I had the AE's right away in time for a game.

That is very true, but I'm still kind of pissed. If I had more patience back then, I wouldn't have minded waiting a week or so to save money.

OK So, I frequent Commandos and I do not have a biased oppinion. I am very experienced in airsoft, and have dealt with many different retailers/manufacturers. The owner, Sam, is a cool guy and can be very helpful. They have a large variety of products. If you know what you need exactly, this is the place to go. Its great for beginners as well.
HOWEVER. They really need to work on the repair/upgrade portion of their shop. YES he does know what he is doing but he needs to take his time. ALSO, He really needs to start checking and testing his work. He NEEDS to offer some sort of quality gurantee, too. Ive had many repairs and upgrades done there and have needed to make additional trips due to small mistakes/errors every time. Today I had over $200 worth of upgrades put into my M-16, got home, and something's wrong. Its really frustrating. JUST CHECK YOUR WORK!, Other than that, I love the store.

Do you know what bias means? There can't be "a bias." First of all, I provided an accurate and clearly unbiased oppinion. The fact that I frequent this shop does not gove me a biased oppinion.. It simply means that it is the only shop in my area. NOWHERE did I say "im friends with the owner." Or "hey i work for commandos." PLEASE read the full post before creating judgement. Thanks.
