Well, to start, it could have been worse for the green team. And this was by no means as good as any other Op we have seen this year. The tan wrecked us all day. Which of course everyone knew. On the green team we really struggled getting anything done. I believe this was mostly because of the low experience level of most of the team. I have never had that hard of a time coordinating a team. Coms weren't bad, and numbers were pretty even, but I seen very little aggression from green. It seemed every engagement we came upon we got bogged down and stopped all movement. A little frustrating for this being a MilSim, but with a 16y/o age cap, I suppose thats what we get. I can commend my fellow green on one thing especially, which is honesty. The entire day I didn't see any green cheating nor hear any complaints. My guys reported also that they didn't see any green cheating. The same can not be said for the tan team. Much of the day my team was reporting hit calling problems. I wasn't doing much shooting, so I don't know for a fact, but it seemed like all my guys were complaining about it all day. All in all, I had a blast, as did my guys. Big thanks to Armory Airsoft for having us! Thanks to all the green guys for being honest and fighting hard all day, despite the fact that we got our butts kicked. Canto, thanks again! Eggheads- Good working with you guys as always!

Had a great day of playing airsoft with everyone today! Both teams fought very well! Over-all I have no complaints, and even though it was cold it could have been worse. Dingo, I definitely agree with you in that it seemed the green side had a way lower-age limit vs the tan side. Where it seemed mostly everyone on tan definitely was very close or were mostly of adult age. So I'm sure that contributed to the difference in aggressiveness and pushing forward and over-all playing. I was out in the field playing pretty much the whole time since I was XO (To both Ryan & Dumptruck, excellent job leading tan today ) And while I didn't see too much non hit calling, After lunch when green had the village, I shot two green players in the back and they didn't call their hits. However like Canto mentioned they didn't even react after getting shot, so I really think that they didn't feel their shots and I didn't let it even bother me. What did disappoint me however was the taunting that some players on green were directing towards tan. This occurred near the edge of the village closest to the trenches. After the game convened after lunch. C'mon calling us "pussies" and all the other things they were saying definitely showed a lack of maturity and poor sportsmanship. Of course this was just a few select people, but I thought that was definitely uncalled for. But hey when I helped Dumptruck select the grid locations for our airstrike that pretty much gave us control of the village for the rest of the day to hold it until the end of the game, I made sure those players were marked... So thank you for the motivation! j/k Big thanks to Canto and the guys from FLAK/Armory Airsoft for reffing/hosting, as you guys always host amazing games, and I'll always be there!

Definitely a good day to be a tan player. I was hoping to be put on the Green team with reaper but it didn't happen. I think the green re-spawn was way to easy to capture but other than that the objectives were clear enough to understand.

I had a good day besides mpulling somthing in my leg and trying to hobble between cover, I have nothing else to say. I saw some hit calling issues but it's winter and a lot of the time people really don't know they got hit, they have layers on, so I just shot them again and get over it ITS A GAME Tan was much more aggresive, we never let up until we pushed green as far back as we could, then we backed off to do it again. Great job Tan medics, I saw you guys putting in a lot of work. Me and Voorhies were going to switch over to Green to help out but never got the go ahead.

All in all it was fun. The hit calling I thought was rediculous. It's winter. I think it was just a combination of things the weather and the feild. Although I got to meet some great people.
Green lacked motivation. Dingo it wasn't you. You did a great job as CO. Kaboose you did good too. It was our experience level.
Tan I'm not going to talk about.
Canto good job at organizing.

Great time for me. I always enjoy playing with Black Talon. Honestly I didn't see too much of a problem with hit calling considering it was cold and with the lower FPS and amount of clothing and gear it just sort of happens. Over all I loved yesterday despite my ass being handed to me in a paper back by the tan team but hey, it is all about fun and I had tons of it.
Thanks again Canto and again a great time with Black Talon.

I was barely out on the field, nursing the remainder of a cold and working on guns most of the day. But from what I heard, the game went pretty well.
I didn't mind though, I enjoy helping you guys out when/if you need gun work on-site.

Well I had plenty of fun. Dutchman and the other guys I came with had a blast too, from what I hear.
Considering the cold and the amount of gear/jackets/layers people were wearing, I didn't really have too many issues with hit calling. I had some guys claiming they had hit me, but my policy is if there's a good chance I was hit without feeling it, I call it. I was hit plenty of times to be not calling my hits.
Defending the city from the van positions was a blast, especially considering we were outnumbered 15 to 3 at one point and we managed to hold off the Russian attacks. Same thing happened during the defense of the church in the second game, but that Russian BANZAI charge was just too much to handle. That was an epic firefight. I felt like an Alamo defender.
Overall, I really loved the field, being my first visit, loved the organization of our team and of course, loved shooting and getting shot. Props to Canto and everyone for organizing a great event. Also, my girlfriend says thanks for nobody shooting her while she snapped photos and thanks Canto for providing her with that vest to keep her out of the gun sights. Her and I appreciate it quite a bit. Had fun and can't wait to get back into the fray.

Personal Score: 25 heals, 0 kills
This was a good day. The snow and field were just how I hoped they'd be. Though next time I should look at investing in some of those hand warmer packets. Communications weren't bad, but there was plenty of confusion at the start of the day. My relatively low number of heals just tells me we were doing that much better out there.
My highlight time for the day was in the second half when I was hunkered down behind the church during a big Russian rush. Did you guys like that grenade? And then Reaper and I got really sneaky, I quietly healed him on the other side of a wall from some Russians (all but 1 I think were down) who didn't seem to notice what was going on. Then Reaper politely reached around and knife killed him! ;D It was a sneaky bastard move but technically legal. So let that be a lesson to folks to stay vigilant.
Hit Calling I heard plenty of complaints, most were attributed to heavy gear, but some situations described to me were just without excuse. However, I would point out, that it is one thing for new players to sit or dawdle on the field without a kill rag. We've all been there. But for experienced players not to have one, come on guys. I mean it's okay if you don't mind getting shot up some more, but it's just confusing for everybody else. At standing around chatting is a huge distraction for you and others, as I was reminded when I tried to get 1 little kid to pull his pants up from around his ankles, getting shot for my trouble.
The only one that I saw myself was actually myself at the end of the day. I was hunkered down in the corner of a bunker when I heard and felt a hail of what I assumed to be ricochet. I kind of froze up trying to figure out what to do. Then I got stung real good and walked out. So sorry for any confusion or frustration I caused on that one.
Goggles I had to call way to many people on having goggles off. Now don't get me wrong, I understand they fog and it's heinous. We understand, that's why we suspended the 0-tolerance rule for the day. And cleaning your goggles in the spawn or crouched in a bunker, that's one thing, that's not a big deal. But when I see people standing in the middle of the open play field doing it, it scares the crap out of me, because I know that nobody is prepared to accept the potential consequences of an "accident". Big Texas has a great story on this one.
Tips - Bring a small, dry cloth for your goggles. Using your hand/glove or already wet clothes does not help that much and can make things worse.
- A little electric fan can also help with fogging. I think I saw one guy who mounted a computer fan on his helmet, which I am curious to know how well that worked!
- Instant respawn does not negate your mandatory bleed out time. "Mandatory" means you have to do it whether you want to or not and regardless of whether you know if there's a medic nearby or not.
- "Flat-footed" means you're not alert or paying attention to the situation. Always remain vigilant because just because you don't see them doesn't mean they're not hiding and lining up a shot on you. A few of you found out exactly what I mean.
- Strategic positioning. When there's a rush, most folks know to move into an area as far and fast as they are able. But some of our less experienced players have a tendency to bunch up in large groups or hunker down way in the back where they can't be shot and can't shoot anyone themselves. What you guys also have to remember is that when you have your backs firmly to a wall like that, well outside of the fire line, you're not combat effective and you deny yourself a fall back and escape position.
- Plastic bags around the socks, not a bad idea for folks without the fancy footwear for these wet conditions.
Roland Found a computer screw, matchbox car, food and garbage you guys left on the floor but did not find your wallet. Sorry.
Question I THINK we had 3 medics per team (can't clearly recall for Green). I would personally like to know if we/they were effective. It seemed like on Tan we had them spread pretty well for the most part and kept the lines bolstered.

The ratio we had worked out awesome.

Canto et al:
My sons and I had a lot of fun.
Master_Oki_Akai: I thought tan's early push through to town during game one was due to the placement and competency of our medics. We took some casualties but we always had a medic nearby and therefore didn't loose any of the positions we took. I had elements of our squad, you, and another medic working in tandem. I loved it when you were treating the second medic when he was hit when assisting me. It seemed to me that the green team didn't have medics with them. When they took casualties, they lost their position. Whenever we hit someone, I was always looking for the "medic kill".
Regarding the goggles: I admittedly was one of the persons you "called out". My goggles kept fogging, and I have a pair of ESS's with a built in fan. I resorted to bringing another pair of goggles to change out. In my defense, I made sure my back was towards the enemy, but your point is taken.
Regarding the calling of hits: I can't speak for the entire tan team, but I think a couple of factors were involved. Heavy winter gear does make it hard to feel hits, especially when you a situation where you have the ricochets also. Second, on a number of occasions, I swore I hit some one. They didn't call themselves out. I got to believe that I missed them. If you don't take that attitude, and you don't trust the other person's honor, then what is the point of playing. On one occasion, a green members mentioned that he thought I wasn't calling a hit. Luckily I had a moderator right next to me when I was being fired at. Thankfully he could state that I wasn't hit. and all was good. Second, my section took hits, but we had medics there immediately so we were back in the fight quickly.
During the first game, two of us held the church. We had a medic and kept him out of harms way. When one of us was hit, he had us right back in the fight. By the way, when green launched an assault on the church with approx. nine guys, that was great. Firing , changing mags, and covering for "Comedian's" mag changes was awesome. Talk about an adrenilin rush.
I felt bad for the green team, (not that you needed pity). Tan had the definite edge in aggressive players. I noticed that tan could pull together effective fire/assault teams almost at will. I also thought our CO did an excellent job coordinating our responses. It seemed that the green team never really pushed any assault in an organized fashion.
Anyways, thanks to all of you guys. Special thanks to Muffinman, Dumptruck, Spade, Comedian, and Vince. Thanks for being helpful and good sports to myself and my sons.
Hope to shoot at all of you again.
Have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year.
ONE SHOT ONE MISS
PS Muffinman: Can't wait to get the M-14 out in warmer weather. Made some small mods. It shoots like a beast.

Oneshotonemiss, I think you clearly explained why I think a lot of the players on the green team thought we weren't calling our hits and obviously had a negative attitude towards the tan side. Because from my perspective of being on the front lines most of the game I recall seeing members of tan calling out/hit left and right continuously. However our medics were where they needed to be and it allowed us to hold our positions like you said. And then our players were back in.

I had an OK time on the Green team. The lack of experienced/agressive players realy hurt us.
I was getting fustrated at first about people not taking hits until I talked to some Tan guys at break. They just used there medic's very well. I shot people and than they where back in there old postion in a minute. I was what the heck is going on. It was using the medic correctly.
We used the same tatic when dfending the village and it worked well until the airstrike.
As for the Medic's, I believe they need to be tweaked and maybe a written hand out be given to the folks playing the medic's. I had different medic's telling me different rules. Not good. Clearifications 1. Have the medic take 2 minutes to heal a person. 2. If you get shot while being healed by a medic, you are dead! 3. You can only be healed once per repop
I think that would help balance the medic and stop some of the fustrating stituations that happened on Sunday.
Until next time The Nelkie

thenelkie:
Was that you with the SAW at the bunker during the 1st game???
If so, that was a great firefight.
Also, great move on the church when you "bunkered" me.
To bad your grenade shot missed Comedian. (Just joking about that!!!)
I would have been embarrassed to say that you captured the church from us by yourself.
If your not the guy I have referenced above, sorry. Props anyways to the guy.

oneshotonemiss, that was me (Vince) with the grenade shot in the church. I was positive there were two of you guys in there and had quite the surprise rolling in and finding four. The old madbull shell didn't have much range but that one guy's foot was toast. ;D It was rough watching your medic heal away as I bled out into the snow.
It's always fun to get out and see folks, I was frustrated with the lack of organization and focus on the green team, but all in all a good time.
