Knife's Guide to Marine Force Recon Loadouts

Since it's been awhile and I've been meaning to mention this, the guide will more than likely no longer be updated, or very sparingly if that. I've stopped following MFR loadouts as much as I once did as I've completed/sold off the one I was originally working on. At some point in the future I may, but that remains to be seen. The guide is still solid, but the information may be outdated/incorrect as new equipment is issued and used.

Questions are still welcomed and I'll do my best to answer them.

I think the most important question is, are you planning on working on a new impression and do you have plans to post up a guide for that one? What you've put together here is one of the best guides to a military impression I've ever seen, and anything else like it would be an outstanding asset to the community.

At the moment I've got no plans to post up any other guides. I've got two other loadouts being worked on/completed, Army SF and a Navy SEAL loadout, but I'm not confident in providing a guide with the correct level of detail on either of those yet. Maybe in the future, but it'd be awhile.

But I must say, this is by far the best USMC Force Recon guide I've seen.

Knife whats a good place to find eagle gear or just gear at all for a recon lodout. second you know a good brand for a 1911 meu. BTW vary vary helpful guide.

The Tokyo Marui MEU is easily the best on the market. You can snag it from just about any higher end Hong Kong retailer. I like ehobbyasia and uncomany, myself. For new gear, I like www.skdtac.com and www.optactical.com, though there are plenty of others. If you're looking to get legit FSBE II gear, you'll be scouring ebay and commerce sections on various gear boards. If you're looking for reproduction stuff, check out the selection of FLYYE at www.shootercbgear.com and Pantac at www.airsoftsmith.com. Both Pantac and FLYYE make top notch repro gear that pretty much blows anything else on the airsoft market out of the water.

As Knief said, if you want an MEU get a TM. I had a WE one and it was shitty. Maybe I had a lemon, but I won't be buying another WE pistol.

For Eagle gear, use Ebay. The market has been a bit flooded with it over the last year or two, and the prices are pretty low. Much of it can be found for less than retail. Some items still carry a premium, but for the most part you seem to be able to get it cheap.

These statements above are false. One, Marine Force Recon is NOT MARSOC, this is a common misconception. Although MARSOC (MSOB) was founded by seasoned MFR guys in order to create a Marine Special Operations capable of that of Army SF or even SEAL, they go by a completely new title and do slightly more difficult missions. Marine Force Recon is a special detachment to Recon Battalion, there is aprox 30-40 team guys per 120-150 basic recon companies. Currently they're attempting to stand up a lot of more but with majority of the MFR boys moving out to MSOB, MFR has slightly dropped the ball on who they're willing to accept.

Secondly, the picture you posted is of MSOB individuals wearing the woodland version of Crye combat gear. This is done to better ensure blending in with Afghan National Army counterparts overseas, which majority of them are wearing either a weird looking version of AOR2, or traditional woodland tri-color, as seen in the picture.

Hope this helps clear things up a bit, Preacher2013, I'm actually selling off my MFR 1911 pistol in the commerce thread. WE 1911 w/ MEU grips, Surefire X300, 2 mags and Safariland 6004 leg holster. Been awhile since I last saw this thread Mosin, and yes I now know Force Recon is not MARSOC. I "Liked" MARSOC's page on FB and one day they posted an article about the difference between the two. Funny thing is, I started out with doing an MFR impression, but after the whole confusion, I just ended up doing MARSOC. But now I'm doing something custom. I'll just delete the post.

Necrotic post of the best kind, but seeing as this page is starting to get dated as far as gear being worn/information posted, I've added "early 2000's" in the post title, in case anyone wants to take a stab at making one based off the kit Force Recon or MSOB dudes are rocking since 2011.
