PICTURES!! I had a great time at Flash Fire. I spent the first 3 hours taking pictures and I saw fair play on both sides. I think it was one of the best games as far as team leaders giving direction and having clear objectives. If guys would have radios on, they would know more of what's going on and not be out of the loop on objectives. I thought that cheating (NOT CALLING) was vastly improved over last year. Besides the tan team bugging out early, and the game not starting on time again, it was a great day! As far as pictures go, I took hundreds and am posting 256. I tried to get you all, so if you're not in any, it's not my fault. You should have shouted to me.... many guys did and they are in here. Here is the link. Enjoy, and tell me what you think. Many thanks to Armory Airsoft and everyone that helped at the event. The event was a lot of fun (and not only because I was finally on a winning side!)
Green team, great job. mobbro, excellent command. I followed mobbro around for 3/4 of the game and while comms were not perfect, there was always a lot of chatter/direction going on. I would "highly" suggest it to everyone.
Having been on the Northern Ridge three times, I think the Southern Ridge is certainly better. It is harder to access Charlie and Delta and the Airfield because of the steep hills, but those hills also make support easier than from the Northern side. Alpha is so much easier from the Southern ridge as well. I've jumped that crazy stream under fire several times from the North ridge trying to access Alpha...ugh!
Tex and SkyCop, thanks for the excellent pics!

This was my fist airsoft event ever and I had a blast. I am extremely impressed with you all as a group and airsoft as a sport. The organization was incredible (I thought it was gonna be a cluster fuck off in some woods). Canto, thanks for making me feel welcome and organizing a great event. I especially liked the lunch intermission in the mod tower. I look forward to shooting at/with you guys again.

I know this is a bit late, but my computer has been on the fritz lately.
I had very mixed feelings about this game. I've played three other times at this field, and I've had fun every time. I still had fun, but it was definatley different.
The first half of the day started off great with some very fast firefights pushing for control. Within the first half an hour though, you could tell how the day was going to be. Every attempt at forward movement seemed to be met with a wall of plastic. Part of this was good placement and strategy by green, but also part over-crowding. I had a blast running with Dingo and the rest of BT again. I'm always impressed with how well you BT's work together!
The second half of the day was plagued by pretty much chaos for the tan side. When the second half started, our CO wasn't even at our spawn. The rest of our squad had been converted over to Green/China at lunch, leaving my friend and I pretty much rogue. It was quite a while before we even found out what was going on with China joining the fight. Part was due to comms failures on the tan side, but it also would have been nice to know in the post-lunch breifing.
We spent the rest of the day bouncing around, trying to defend whever there "seemed" to be an objective or offensive push from the greens. I started to get very frustrated toward the end. (Sorry Dingo and BT, you guys got a lot of my frustration.)
The last hour or so of the game, the few remaining tan were pinned on our own hill, trying to slow down China, then Immortal as they all ran all over us. I have to say that was probably the best part of the day, even though by that point tan was out-numbered at least 4-1. The push from BT up the west part of the hill was amazing to see and fun to be involved in-- even on the loosing side.
Canto-- I talked to you on the north ridge for quite a while after lunch. I'd like to thank you for listening to me, and letting me complain a bit while I was at it. I still think that the main issue that seemed to plug up the field was just the sheer number of people. All three other events I've been at have had 70-90 and they seemed to be good as far as numbers go. I liked that you tried the new objective system, and I think the China twist was a great idea-maybe the implementation could have gone better. I know an event can only be planned so much, and the rest you have to leave up to us players. I'm still very interested in coming to another game, and thank you for your time and effort in putting this together for everyone.
Tex, Sky-- Thanks for the pictures-- you both have some sweet composition!
Good game everyone!

Quick question. I see a lot of guys using sunglasses, and I was wondering if those were ok to use instead of goggles. If so, I can only assume that they are approved to be used. Also, if that is the case, I would like to know where to get them so that I can use said glasses instead of goggles.
any info would be dandy.

Wiley-X SG1 sunglasses are full seal if worn with the retention strap. They aren't cheap and you'll need to buy some good anti-fog if you've ever had issues with forging since they don't breath terribly well. Alternatively, Wiley makes a Cqc goggle which is very low profile and has great ventilation.
Other than that as long as the glasses are ANSI rated and have foam around the lenses and an elastic band to secure them to your head, you should be good to go.
