I have tried to search the forum for this but I keep getting a timeout on the search - something wrong with the board I guess? So if this has been asked before I appologize. I am thinking about purchasing this from Evike and wondered if anyone has any input on it? It is $40 and seems like a decent deal to me. Matrix Modular Molle System Vest - Vest Only. www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=26983{1}4I am roughly 6' and weigh about 190 lbs. and it says "one size fits most" so I am wondering if it will fit me. Also, I would like it to absorb some of the BB impact but not all of it - I still want to know when I have been hit. I have only played a few games so far (new to Airsoft) and I wore a shirt with a thick sweatshirt over it and got a few red marks on my back and front. I am hoping to keep that from happening as much if possible so I am thinking a vest may be the way to go. Also I would like to put some ammo puches for mid-cap mag's and other stuff so MOLLE seems like the best bet for that (somewhat unlimited configurations, etc.) Anyway let me know if you have any information on this vest or know of one in the same price range that might work good. Thanks!

Is there any particular reason you've chosen a vest over a plate carrier? Vests tend to not hold as many pouches, they also are way more prone to the "flopping" affect when running full speed in game.
A plate carrier however will support the use of many pouches, and when properly adjusted, won't move at all during gameplay.
To answer your question, the vest will probably fit. 6' 190lbs is more or less an average height/weight ratio, and I'm sure you'd fit under the "most" category. If you were 6ft 300lbs, it probably wouldn't fit, but I think you're good.
Also, the Matrix brand is generally considered pretty cheapy in terms of quality. You may want to consider other brands like Flyye, Pantac, Blackhawk, etc. Try and find something constructed of 1000D Cordura, and stitched to military specs.

Thanks Dahm.. What is the "flopping" affect you mentioned? The pouches flopping or the vest itself?

A properly adjusted vest won't flop around either. One of the biggest causes of THAT in my experience is when folks don't properly "weave" their pouches to the vest (for anyone who doesn't, that PALS on the back of the pouches that just happens to fit between the rows of PALS on your vest is there for a a reason...).
The plate carrier looks more tacticool. The vest is just the same thing sans-plates, and can even be worn over an armor carrier, which has been done before plenty of times. In the end, it's your decision, mate.

I have that vest (which I am looking to get rid of for a PC). It is pretty nice, and it hasn't "flopped" on me at all. I honestly like the look of PC's more though. It's up to you though, man. It's what ever you think looks better; but be warned, what Dahm said was true on the other hand. A PC does carry more pouches, that might help in the long run. Your choice though.
