Operation: Tigerland

*Air Cav: Woodland (Do NOT ask for other patterns; I WILL say NO)
*VC: All other non-woodland based camo patterns
**VC players by invitation only
Age Limit: 18+ or a vet of TFI events
Background:
In 1964 America, under the administration of President Johnson, entered into the Vietnam Conflict. Years of unrest had lead to this moment in time. The French colonial rule had failed back in 1956 when they were pushed out of the country. America had sent advisers into South Vietnam; the infamous "White Papers" of December 1961 would lead to our eventual involvement in the country. The year is 1965, March and you are among the first combat troops to be deployed into this volatile country. You are members of the United States Army Air Cavalry, and you have just received your first mission: You are to drop behind enemy lines and locate the enemy strong holds in the area and destroy them. It is thought that an enemy regiment is currently occupying the area... and they are waiting for you!! Join the Drop!

The US forces will be broken into two Platoons with 2-4 squads each. Squads rules are posted at the above site under Rules, section 8. Each platoon will also have one Demo Detachment of 4-6 men that will be key to completing the missions given.

We are heavily encouraging players to pre-register for this event so that squads are defined and a battle plan can be made prior to the event. Also this is to prepare you folks for Durbond III and the form of registration that will take place for that next year.
DO NOT post "I'll be there" on this thread and expect to be placed on the roster. Only those who go through the proper steps will be placed on the roster.
Registration procedure:
Go to www.tfiris.webs.com and register for the event under our registration page which will be place on the site on or before May 8rd.
Pre-Payment will open on May 15th and close on June 19. We are highly encouraging you to pay via paypal to tfiris@live.com during this time.
Those who register and prepay will be placed into a squad on the roster, unless your squad leader has requested and submitted a Squad Registration Form, in which case you will be on that squad.
Walk-ons are allowed but this will throw off platoon and squad set ups as well as any battle plans that you have made.
Planing for the Game:
To plan for this event please go to www.tfirisevents.proboards.com and start planing out your groups movements and platoon jobs. Objectives will become available after June 1st.
