UTG M3 (sawn off)
$60 stock less $70 with stock.
External impression
The UTG (Under The Gun) M3 shotgun is a replica of the Benelli M3T Italian shotgun.
This is a replica of the tactical version with a folding butt stock. This looks very similar to the real version of the shotgun. The barrel on the real version is significantly longer and the sights of the real version are different. The biggest issue I had with it though was the lack of the folding butt stock. They most likely removed it to save money. All in all not too bad of a replica though. One thing I really liked though was that they put the selector switch on it.

As for the feel of the shotgun I could describe it in one word, solid. The gun is mostly ABS plastic with a feel of the critical parts being metal. When you hold it feels as if you could bash it against the wall as hard as you could without it breaking. At times if you apply a significant squeezing around the chamber you can hear a little squeak or two. A plus or minus is the weight, I would estimate it weighs a little more then 5-6 pounds. It feels like I could pick it up and throw it 100 yards. I can run at full speed with this without any trouble. The gun is 25 ½ inches longs, so just a little over 2 feet, perfect for CQB. The guns sights are painted white so you can see them better in low light. I find this to be very useful.
To load the gun you pull back on a switch to open a little metal door.
Once this is open you slide a 30rd. shell into it, and close the door again.
Shooting performance
This shotgun is spring powered, so to start you must pump it. When you pump it you will find that it takes a lot of effort. It’s not too bad once you get used to it but it can be a bit of a pain when you are in the middle of a firefight. The next issue I had was it at times only fired 2 BB’s instead of the 3 it’s supposed to. This could just be my gun or my shells, who knows. With all my tests I used .25g Airsoft GI bb’s made by Madbull.
This was fired at 15 feet indoors in a standing position. The target is 17 x 17. I would say I'm impressed and surprised at the shotgun. Note that when I wrote 4 or 6 next to a circle that is how many hits where in that circle. Also note that the range is very very short. Hitting things 45 feet away is very difficult.
Final impressions
To sum it up I would say this is a great shotgun for the money. It’s not the best you can buy but it works just fine for CQB. With little to no care this gun can last you a very long time. The accuracy is not bad at all in fact I’m pretty impressed with the accuracy for a shotgun. The range leaves a lot to be desired for though as you will have trouble hitting anything more then 45 feet away. It is pretty much sufficient for CQB though.
Pros:
Price only $60-70, very cheap for any airsoft weapon that isn't from the clearance isle in K-mart.
Solid feel
Short length that is great for CQB which is what this weapon is intended for.
Cheap shells around $2-3 a shell and are also very common.
Weight (possibly) this makes the weapon much more portable and less strenuous to carry.
Cons:
UTG brand this often means lower quality
Short range
Weight (possibly) some people prefer heavier weapons as it adds to realism.
Cheap quality shells that often break however they are very cheap to replace.
Value- 4.5/5
Accuracy- 3.5/5
Range- 1.5/5
Externals- 4/5
