I have a WELL APS2 MB05 that I bought from airsplat a couple of years ago. It was my first airsoft gun. I have been using it in skirmishes with my friends and it has served me well over its lifetime and I have disassembled it many times to clean and maintain it. After a while my friends started getting AEGs and one of my friend purchased a KWA KM16 in the spring of 2009 and it matched my rifle's fps and almost made me obsolete I only had my skills and my ability to hide and conceal myself to get my kills in skirmishes. So, naturally I began searching for upgrades, since it was an APS2 clone I was researching Laylax and PDI upgrade parts but didn't want to break the bank. After sometime, and a few dead-end upgrade projects, I came across an Upgrade Kit made by UTG I purchased it through Trinity airsoft for $35 which is cheaper than Evike's and ASGI's Price of $50 for the upgrade. Also, Trinity offers the upgrade for $50 installed into a new UTG APS2 L96. Anyway I installed the upgrade which was a spring, metal piston, metal spring guide, and a bearing set. I used ICS aerosol grease in the cylinder and receiver where the cylinder slides. It was quite easily accomplished and had only one snag in the installation of the kit, and I don't expect it to happen to everyone but I had to deburr the ends of the tube in the spring guide so the guide rod could slide through easily. I did this simply with a Phillips screwdriver by applying a small amount of force to the end whilst twisting, that should grind down the burrs in a few minutes. After I installed the kit and assembled the gun I ran some tests and had promising results. I can shoot through the bottom of pop cans, the top of pop cans, and I can shoot through not one but two pop cans lined up side by side. I have not chronoed the gun but depending on how well it was installed I would say it shoots from 530-545fps perfect for MIA regulations. I also have heard reports that the upgrade will not damage the trigger box because of the torque reducing bearings that come with the kit. So, know I will be outranging my competition again. YAY!!
In conclusion the kit was very easy to install and it even came with instructions on how to install the kit written in good English too. It makes my gun shoot fast and I'll be able to use it for this season before I replace the rifle with a Higher quality system like a Tanaka or Ares sniper rifle. So if you have a Well/UTG rifle and want to upgrade your gun this is the kit to get it's relatively cheap and will keep you in the game until you can invest in a higher quality platform. But, I do not recommend this to snipers just starting out because you do not fully understand the pain you will be bringing onto your competition and will probably be dumb and shoot people within the engagement limit because you haven't learned to estimate distance properly yet. So, if you're a sniper who is saving up for a new rifle and need something to keep you in the game this is the kit to buy. ;D
