Hello everyone! I have a few questions before I am ready to commit to being there (dont want to say I'll be there then not show). Is there any restriction on ammo size (.gs) and I only own 1 gun but it shoots consistenly at 350-360 fps with .20's . If nobody has an objection with the fps that's what I would have to use. Lastley is there any room on camo if you guys are cool with me coming out? I guess I can just shoot .25's?? to lower FPS?

The gun has to be 350 and under using .2 bbs. It cant go over and we can't substitute heavier bb's to lower the fps. I believe that marvin has a few guns he can make available for you. I'd send him a PM or an e-mail to find out for sure.

mbasher, it needs to fire under 350 with .2s. The energy while firing .25s is the same, and its not the speed, but energy that the BB has. If you got a gun that can fire reliably UNDER 350, as if its over 350 at all, you can't play, but if it's under come on out. Wear whatever you've got and we can probably even it up the day of.

Is there any restriction on ammo size (.gs) I'm going to guess that you mean weight as opposed to size, and in that case, no. I've never been to an event that doesn't allow you to use a certain weight of BB. That being said, I'd stick to .2g for CQB because they lose energy faster (less mass = less inertia) and it's almost a courtesy to the other people playing.
I guess I can just shoot .25's?? to lower FPS? Your gun still puts out the same amount of energy no matter what weight BBs you use, so no, you can't just use heavier BBs. As I mentioned above, a heavier BB will actually hit with more energy than a lighter BB.

As I mentioned above, a heavier BB will actually hit with more energy than a lighter BB. No it won't. It will leave the barrel with a reduced velocity because it is heavier, so it will have the same energy.

Yes but as it flies through the air, it will retain that energy better than a lighter BB. The graph at the bottom of this page, right hand side shows what I'm talking about: www.bbbastard.com/ATP/07-b-07.htm

Ike, Viper, you're both mostly right.
Back in the days of Airsoft Players, somebody ran a test to prove both of those theories. It turns out that heavier bbs actually leave the barrel of the same gun with more energy. They figured it had to do with putting slightly more back pressure on the nozzle at "take off" or something like that. It's not significant, but it's there. And then yes, a lighter bb will bleed off more energy as it travels because it's affected by drag more.
If we want to get into more physics type stuff though, let's take it to another thread and leave this one for the game.
mbasher, I hope you can make it out. If you're in the area, we can always chrono your gun that morning before you pay to see if it's field legal. If you live father away, that could be a bitch, but if you're in the neighborhood, it might be worth it.

So what is the final head count here? Is the game seriously on with only 7 signed-up players? Please tell me there are some others that haven't been accounted for?
