Read the rules of the board please. We require that you type like you passed the second grade, which basically means clean up your grammar and spelling. You don't have to be perfect, but chat speak and a lot of typos are frowned upon here.

oh ok, i saw where i made the mistake now. my apologies Well, clearly you didn't. I don't mean to come off too harsh, but proper English includes not only grammar and spelling, but capitalization and punctuation too. That means that the first letter of a new sentence is capitalized, and when referring to yourself "I" is capitalized.

okay, well allow me to fix that for you. I saw where I made the mistake on this thread. My apologies. On another note, and what I'm about to say might sound dumb however its true, i did not pass the second grade. I was home schooled up untill high school. No, I did not say this to be an ass. I brought that up because some of us did not pass the second grade and might find offence in that statement.

Fair enough. Technically, you did not pass the second grade. However, from a practical standpoint you must have "passed" the second grade, right? Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the point of homeschooling is to teach you (essentially) the same material as you would learn in a formal class, but at home. Thus, you would still have "passed" the second grade curriculum. So while you may not have taken a second grade class in an elementary school, you still learned the same material.
Therefore, you are still expected to type with proper English spelling, grammar, and punctuation here.

Understood clearly, and what you just said is true and makes a valuable point. However I do not want to feel as though I can be kicked out of a thread because I did not capitalize my Is or something like me forgetting how to spell a word. i think that's kinda nitpicking and makes me feel like I'm Walking a thin red line. I will say that I understand where you guys are coming from and totally respect that because that texting, chatting lango is not one hundred percent understandable. That being said from now on, good little Sparrow will watch his grammar and will comply with every other rule which must be followed. Smiley face

Maybe it is nitpicking to a certain extent, but on the other hand, why wouldn't you post with correct grammar and spelling? Sure, typos are fine every now and then, but they aren't hard to fix and it honestly shouldn't take you much longer to hit your shift key when you type "I". Think about it this way- If you were writing a paper for a class, you wouldn't have a bunch of typos and incorrect grammatical statements in it, would you? Sure you're not writing a paper here, but this is a community where we try to present information to anybody and everybody in a manner that (just about) everyone can get something out of.
Also, most computers and browsers nowadays have a spell check feature in them- you know, when you misspell something you get that squiggly red line. You can quickly scan your post when you're done typing and find any blatantly misspelled words. Hell, MiA even has a spell check button that will automatically spell check your post for you.
Lastly, don't take this too personally. I'm a bit of a grammar nazi (a blatant disregard for the English language on a computer is a huge pet peeve of mine- I understand when texting that it actually is much faster to type "u" or "r" and things like that, but when you have a full keyboard in front of you I think there's no excuse), but like I said before little typos and things like that are okay. We won't ban you for having bad spelling and grammar unless you clearly show no sign of trying to correct yourself. So just spend an extra ten seconds proofreading your posts before you hit "Post Reply" and you'll be fine.
