Okay, here's one regarding the whole "barrel condom" thing. All the ones that I can find are designed to fit over a more normally-sized barrel - paintball guns, assault rifle barrels, and the like. I was planning on bringing a P90 - from what I can see, none of the ones I've seen via Google-fu are going to fit. Short of leaving my P90 in my backpack, instead of putting a barrel bag on it, anyone have any ideas? Or am I SOL and going to have to bow out?

No not at all. Are you using a silencer on it or just the standard flash hider @ stock length? If all you have is a plug if you're using a silencer, bring it, and if you have to carry the P90 in its box or a carrying case when walking it from your car to chrono and then just keep it without a mag in it when you're walking onto the field.

If you can before, try and get one. I didn't have a barrel condom for all my guns at the last Durbond and I ended up paying like $3-$4 and payed the vendor who was there at the event for one.

To all first time Durbond or new players,

Make sure that you READ ALL of the rules for this event. This typically isn't the kind of MILSIM event that is friendly to new people if they do not read all of the rules and or abide by them. TFI goes to great lengths to ensure that this event runs very smoothly for the enjoyment of the players and they do make sure that the refs at the event enforce the rules.

The fire-team rules are there for a purpose and if you are running around solo trying to play and shoot someone they're not going to call their hit if you're not at least with a group of 3 or more players. Even for the benefit of your own experience it's going to be 10x better if you make sure you read all the rules and follow them.

Guys, Evike has some barrel condoms for $1. I will probably have a few different ones with me as well. I can say from experience that the guys at Hells survivor get pissed if you walk around with out something covering the end of the gun but they are not too particular on what you use. I have seen folks use socks and gloves for a barrel cover. It's not hard to make one either.

Here is a cheap solution: First, just take a thick piece of cloth such as a towel and drape it over the end of the barrel. Next, stretch a large rubber band around the towel and barrel to hold it in place. You now have a barrel condom! This is also nice if you use a bright colored cloth for a kill rag because it is more visible when you sling your rifle and it sticks up over your shoulder so that it can be seen from all sides. Hope this helps you new guys.... maybe this should get reposted else-where.

Thank you Gunny and Rob for helping out while I've been out. HS will have barrel condoms there for purchase. You will need a barrel condom that day so please get one before hand or be prepared to buy one there. Sorry guys the course rules not ours.

Also as Gunny stated please make sure you read all the rules.

My teams on the fence right now. I mix between the weather on Sunday and mainly the fact that its on a Sunday... (Shakes fist)
