Define "good". They really have no purpose other than aesthetic and have no moving parts. There is nothing to really make them "good" or "bad".

By good I guess I mean quality. Does anyone have any experience with either of these. Are they crap, do they not fit right, not comfortable (the grip), loose fitting on the gun(the RIS), etc. That's the kind of feedback I'm lookng for. Does that clear it up?

The Magpul PTS stuff is great quality. I quite like the MIAD personally, I guess it's really up to preference. I would say you couldn't go wrong with it, unless you have small hands.

Thanks for the info Knife!!!! Does anyone know about the Echo 1 RIS? I know it's not the top end RIS, but considering how much I play, I'm not looking for top end. But, I don't want to buy a total POS either. Basically, if it feels as tight or tighter than the orginal handguard, I'm good with it.

With the MIAD, I would honestly suggest finding someone with one and handling it first. I personally do not like the thickness of the backing of the MIAD and much prefer a tangodown style pistol grip.

The RIS was a pain to get in at first, because you need two people and a rubber hammer to replace it from your old handguard. Nothing special about it, but it worked well.

Danny and I popped my RIS on in like two seconds when we installed it on my CA M4.

When's the last time you lifted a 17000 lb gun?

Word, it helps when you have someone there that knows the railed handguards, plus a lot of people forget about the tab on the inside that's used to help stabilze the rails. To include NCOs in my unit here at Campbell.
Sad, I know.
