mostly, it's a random thing... some things get flagged, though... like packages (and shipping containers)from Russia and China...

Yep, as Biggy said it's a little of both. There's no way they can possibly scan every package that comes into the country, at least not without adding significant delays to the whole shipping process. I've heard that they do watch out for packages from certain retailers such as WGC and DEN, who are 2 of the major HK airsoft sellers.

even if they do check out the package, do they even check if the puddy is removable, or even scan closely for trademarks that are uncovered. i know at least if i was working at customs, i would let airsofts through, because i think that the rules on them are stupid. do they really think we wont remove the orange paint or puddy? i understand that there are idiots out there that ruin it for all of us, but it sucks that 1% ruins it for us all. most users, like people on this site, are responsible users of airsoft and are in it for one simple reason: FUN
