I would suggest just locking this up. I can only see a torrent of negativity coming from any further posts. No one is to blame, but stupid bureaucracy. Leave it to government to ruin everyones fun. The Nugent will not be happy. ;D Thanks anyway Hellfish, and Lid, for the massive amount of work you put into this.

As I'm writing this I'm sure the rest of the team is composing something similar. However I'm not really sure what to say, so I apologize if this seems like scattered thoughts.
I promise you all, as disappointed as you are, we the Hellfish feel this ten fold. The frustration is indescribable. I expect many of you to be upset, and with good reason. This is the second time we have got this game running and the second time it has been dashed from the calendar, but this time it's for good. I know many of you busted your asses to take time off from work, make props, and setup loadouts specifically for this game. We had sponsors lined up for raffles, a good cause for the profits to go towards, and all of you guys ready to play, but the one thing we didn't make sure of, the most important thing, was the status of the building.
I don't really know what to say at this point. I'm sorry. We're sorry.
Hopefully future event planners learn from this. Liability is a serious matter and making sure everything is kosher is vital to running a big OP. However the real tragedy here is not that we won't be playing in the hotel, it's we won't get to make our donation to the deceased officer's family.
And for what it's worth, I'm going to applaud Knief and M.S. Arc for handling all the red tape. Arc tried reasoning with the government officials when we heard of the cancellation, but found first hand what Lid's message described. Bureaucracy at it's finest.

As disappointed as I am about not being able to play an amazing game, I fully understand the circumstances.
I want to thank everyone on Hellfish for all the time they spent trying to put this event on. I know how hard you all worked and how much time you spent discussing it with each other. I have always loved your events and I know this was going to be your best yet. I also want to thank Lid for working with everyone and working with the owner to attempt to get us the building. I know you all worked extremely hard to set up a once in a lifetime event. I hope that another building is found and again, thank you to all who went about trying to get this event off the ground.

Thank you everyone for understanding, it meant a lot to us. We reached out to a ton of airsoft companies to try and get sponsorships and stuff we could raffle off to you guys, but all for naught.
God DAMMIT!

Sorry guys.
We tried. I even called the city official several times and like king said, when I got to talking with him he game me the same stuff he gave Lid.
We will make it up to you guys. I don't know how just yet but we will come back with something just as good if not better.
It's sucks that we lost this Op twice now and I feel even worse for the lost opportunity to give something significant back.

I'm waiting for the demo to get pushed back, so we can host the first ever 'third times a charm' game.
Disclaimer: Not gonna happen.

Just wanted to throw out a post, someone said to lock the thread. I don't think that's necessary but I get that everyone is disappointed and as long as this thread doesn't get out of hand I don't see reason to close it. If it does it will be locked.

Well, I know my opinion doesn't count for much, since I wouldn't have been able to attend anyway, but I still think it would be appropriate for everyone to stop (before getting mad) and thank Lid and the Hellfish for all the work and time they put into this Op, even if it didn't make it. Just because it didn't actually happen doesn't mean they haven't all put in a lot of effort.
So, even though I couldn't have gone, thanks guys for what you guys do for the MIA community.
Now I'm waiting to hear what the next ideas are.... ; )

Well said exigent. +1 To lid, and all the Hellfish, thanks for trying to make this happen and we all appreciate everything you do for the community. Sucks it didn't work out but things could be worse... Now is anyone going to be hosting a game this day since I got it off of work?

Tanks for not locking.
People do deserve answers and as much as possible we'll tell you guys all we know.
To our potential sponsors we apologize and if you have already sent over things to be raffled off or given away. We will gladly ship them back to you so you can use them for other events.

As fun as it sounded, I knew there's no way in hell. Still sorry for those of you who planned on going.

Though I was not planning on attending this game, I'd just like to applaud the Hellfish for the manner in which they are handling this situation, and for the example they give for the rest of the airsoft community on how to put a proper event together. I am EXTREMELY disappointed to see this event go down the drain, even without plans to attend, and I can only imagine how disappointed all the rest of you must be. Best of luck in organizing your next event.
(edit: just realized how much it sounds like I'm on the helfish's nuts, so I must add that Dahm is a horse's ass...)
