I'm saying everyone should wear full seal googles if that's the rule.

So by your logic, why should ANYONE wear goggles..... By my logic he took his safety in his own hands, and quite possibly his own right to play that game. Yes he should have, did he NO, its in the past and ill inform Canto that certain rule got ignored by some individuals.

Sunshine, Your not understanding the point. It's a RULE not his choice.

Sunshine, Your not understanding the point. It's a RULE not his choice. Let me quote myself, "he took his safety in his own hands, and quite possibly his own right to play that game" I know it is a rule. Like I said i will infor Canto to reinforce the rule during the next event.

Even camera operators were to wear full seal, as they were on the field. Regardless if he played or not, he should have been wearing full seal if he stepped onto the field.
Others were not wearing full seal either. I saw a couple guys disobeying that "enforced" rule. Most people were obeying the safety rules, but there are always those few people that think they are above the law, and a few others that let them.
We need us some crack down.

If you see them violating the rule... tell me. I will kick em off the field in a heart beat. Usually so much is going on that I don't always notice said violations. But really, bring it to my attention if it happens at Bangor and I am there.

I informed Canto about the few I saw on the field when I saw him walking around.
It bothered me, as there was quite a few out there, not just one or two...

No, they did not have permission from us to wear non full seal goggles. As far as I know, the only people wearing safety goggles were three members of team FLAK who were in game moderators. Unfortunately in the bustle of starting off the event, we didn't catch them walking out with them. Myself personally, I only ran across one of them the entire day on the field. It was a big slip up for the team and we apologize for it.

The biggest thing is that most of the MIA community cares for other people's eyes more than the person in question, which is very sad. If I care about you eyes, and I don't even know you, shouldn't you care too?
I ran a private game a few weeks ago, and it was a lot of fun, but we had one or two guys take off their goggles during the game, which at the very least deprived people of good shots on them, as most smart airsofters won't take a shot just to kill someone, unintentionally hit them in the eye, and ruin the sport for all of us.
This was addressed immediately (it was a small game, only about 25 people), and things went smooth afterward, but we all have to remember a few things...
We use replica firearms that behave unlike paintball guns. They are made to mimic the action and function of a real firearm, and in the case of GBB rifles like the WOC, they come scarily close.
We use replica gear. SAPI plates, IBA, the whole nine yards. We simulate war with this. Last OP: Thunder, a prominent MIA member remarked "I wish we were shooting real 5.56, so we wouldn't have to wear goggles." I'm not throwing this guy under the bus, as I understand his sentiment. You take a real bullet to the head, you die, or you're a veg. Simple.
We live in a place that lets us sim war in our backyards. We need to be thankful of the freedom that actually gives us, instead of wondering if we can take our masks off or put on our 1337 Oakley shooting glasses when the ref's not looking.
Interestingly, the in-game photos do a better job policing the players than the organizers, albiet in the past tense.

Ya know Kustom; sometimes it's the pictures that catch the stuff that one otherwise cannot. Hindsight is 20:20...
GreatDestroyer, I honestly do not remember you mentioning it to me. But it's all good. I don't doubt you did; what I do doubt is my own memory on the issue.
To set the record straight here...
- I/We did not give ANY one permission to not use full seal goggles. - SunShine does not represent myself, Armory Airsoft, Team FLAK, or any of our affiliates.
Regardless of mis-information, photographic evidence, banter, etc. It was a slip-up. Our bad for not catching and rectifying the situation accordingly. I can guarantee it will not happen again...
That being said; let's drop the issue. It seems people had a great time and enjoyed all that we have done with the field.
Since I have yet to make a single statement in this thread... Here we go.
I'm very glad that a ton of the MiA community managed to make it out to this event. It's always good to see a lot of old and new faces around.
Stinky - I hope you liked your birthday gift.
Oki - Love the pictures. The Arby's one is my favorite...
Tex - Glad to see you had a cool dip in the creek...

Like Canto this is my first post in this thread. I really enjoyed the op. It was a really good turn out for the field and I was impressed with some of the newer buildings and structures. Sometimes it felt like the NATO team consisted of indestructable terminators and the rest of us were humble human resistance, but I know it went both ways.
Great Op! I even made it into some pictures! Glad to see a lot of you after a long, airsoftless winter.

Hey all, Great event! First half of the day was pretty intense and it was great to have multiple squads engaging at different locations on the field. Pros: Great field and an action packed scenario. Many people showed up to the event Most injuries were minor (maybe not to the ego, but physically) Cons: Scenario was completed in first half of the day Communication between squads limited by radio shortage Scenario lacked contingencies (if A happens, then move to B...) Great to meet new people and to have such a large event!
