I would say 18, because I am a prick, but 16... 14 is way too young for this. There is too much physical contact coming into play (Even though they are light taps, there is still too much physical contact than would be safe for someone that is 14-15.)
There is also a level of maturity that is called for at a game like this, because a lot of the stuff we discussed at SEMIA requires being mature enough to honor the rules.

Okay, I swung by the semia thread and I just won't have the time to read that anytime soon. thats thread is like three years old. Any way can any one give me a brief overview? I'm really interested in this event and would like to participate as a human civilian. I would really like to carry a shotgun and wear my hunting vest. that would be ballin.

The thread on SEMIA didn't gain this new momentum until halfway through page 17, so I suggest starting there. Red Knight, place me on the list for refs as a backup. I'm willing to ref and "role play" if needed. Troubadour, I agree, 14 is too young for an event like this. 18+ may be too severe. I think most 16 year olds can handle this sort of event.

I think age is a case by case issue, I was thinking that we could screen people and have waivers signed by a parent on the day of the event, with ID provided for the minor that they are waiving to play.
lBrickmanl I will pen you in as a zombie, let me know your friends name so I can list him. Have him post something if possible.

RedKnight, I don't know man... If I am a zombie, I don't wanna grab out at a 14 year old kid and accidentally hurt him... On the same note, I don't trust a 14 year old not to do something stupid like try and tackle me.
Also, put me on Team C right now. If I can think of an interesting guy to roleplay, I throw the idea at you and see if I can do that.

about this 14 year old crap. theres some 14 year olds that are idiots and theres more mature ones that can play by the rules and use common sence. so as for this age requirement, i think only the more known and expierienced younger kids should play. no younger than 14 though.
So count me in Knight. ill just have to see if slug or hunters going to decide teams.

I think I may just put most or all of the under18 players on one team

I think younger kids get a bit giddy. Thats the only things I can think of as a deterrent for them for this event.
But then again when talking about this before, we have said its about the person. If someone have proven themselves in prior games such as no blind firing, calling their hits, and obeying the firing limits I think they have every right to play.
But for the noobies that have just shown up I say NAY!

I'll work on whatever task you need me for. Also, are you going to need help collecting pie pans?

Roman, I concur on all points you just made. in other news...look at the kid with the tiny, little johnson that keeps smiting me! he must be sad and lonely living in his parents basement. keep it up guy! some day you will be a lonely man instead of a lonely kid.

Thank you el, I'll certainly do that.
I will do my best to be there but a date will be necessary before I can give a definite answer. I will be playing on any team that allows me to play as a civilian and am more than willing to role play.
As for the kid smiting you redknight I think you should take pride in having such low karma and such overall respect from the community. just goes to show you how worthless the whole system is.

Why do even care that your karma is low? I can't even remember the last time I exalted or smited anyone. I think the last time I smited was during the bring alphabet to -1000 thing. On topic- Zombie games are close quarter by nature so there should at least be a 16-over limit. I wouldn't expect anyone younger to have the discipline to not accidentaly light up someone's face at close range.

Ill agree that there should be an age limit, but atleast accept more experienced kids that arent going to unload there mags just because they see a zombie. Only allow people you know are capable of playing with older mature people. Its not like zombies are gonna "truck" somebody and hert them. If someone cant handle a light tap or push from a zombie then dont let them play. Im just saying as long as they call there hits and obey the rules, there should be no problem in chooseing who can go.
But its your call Knight i have no problem being on any team you put me on. if you need pie plates or anything just tell me ill go buy some.
See you on friday.
