ALright, I'm dead set on upgrading my L96. I plon on dropping about $600. I am looking for a upgraded..
Cylinder Set Zero Trigger Barrel Extension (150+ MM) Barrel extension adapter PDI Hop-up (to allow AEG barrels in my L96) 550+ mm inner barrel, 6.04 or less. Bolt Handle barrel spacers spring
Redwolf has everything I need and would come out to like $650, but 80% of what I want is out of stock. Almost all of the stuff would be PDI if I bought from here. Most notably the laser cut L96 cylinder set from PDI with vacuum piston. Does anyone know if that cylinder set has a teflon cylinder?
ShooterCity has everything I need at like $750.. right now... The stuff is almost completely first-factory and the inner barrel I'd be buying would be a 650 mm 6.04 guarder. The cylinder set here doesn't actually come in a set and is first-factory and is more expensive, but has a teflon cylinder.
The last option I can see is buying the laser-cut PDI cylinder set from RW and then mix-match shopping between RW, shooter-city, and ASGI.
I'd like to get everything on my list and for everything in the cylinder set to be the same manufacturer. Ofcourse, I'd like to save money as well.
Can anyone help me before I spend $750?

I've been told before it's preferable not to mix brands as much as possible. So I'd either go all PDI or all First Factory as best you can. However, I'd still do what Crazyrabbit originally suggested and PM Tex for his best suggestion. Upgrading bolt actions is not my forte.

Go with the first factory, it's nice stuff and you won't regret it. Installation is pretty easy, and there are guides as well as many informed players that can you help you through it.

There is a new company out called Modify, they make good parts for rather cheap. Search APS2 on WGCshop.com. The piston "Cup" Design is the best for reliability and consistency. Here is what the piston cup design is. Piston (Notice the front, where the cup goes) www.wgcshop.com/WGC_Shop/images/mdf_aps2_02_m.jpgPiston cup www.airsoftatlanta.com/images/aps2_pa_cup_jpg.jpgHexagon makes a Type 96 hopup much like the PDI using AEG barrels for $25. PDI vacuum pistons are junk, I sold mine in a hurry before it broke. The Teflon cylinder actually makes you lose fps, Embed and I found that out pretty fast. It might take you about half a year to locate everything needed to complete your rifle, I have been building mine for 3 years and just finished not long ago. AirsoftAtlanta has some of the stuff you are looking for as well. I hope to see you on the field, and I really hope that I don't see your gun for sale like many other "Snipers" who spend hundreds and find out they cant shoot shit with their gun. If I were you, I would be saving all my deployment money on something else.

Thanks for the info! I've actually done a lot of shopping around and cut the price from $750 to about $550, so I'm adding some gear in and it's still only like $650.
I've got another question though. What strength spring should I get for this application? Also, how do most fields measure FPS? Is the FPS measured with a specific weight of bb's available at the field? Or is the FPS measured with whatever bb's I'll be firing?

All FPS regulations are measured with a .2g bb.

Thanks, I'll have to keep a cooler spring around when I'm done with this if everything works out correctly.

You will want a Laylax 150M or a PDI 250% or CA 300%.

I recommend a Mad Bull 6.03mm Barrell. Cost is $35. As as far as your hop-up. Why use your AEG Barrells in your rifle? If you are sinking this much money into it, why bother? Pimp it out, and leave it pimped.
